I had an in-person tour of The Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham. Everything looked good. The people who helped us were very informative. I could take my dog. They had two bedrooms. They had bars and a room where you could exercise.
They have two chefs, one had a medical issue. Went to hospital came back and was there for awhile. The second chef per mom is not as great of a chef as the first chef in house. She said the chicken was undercooked and very rubbery. The Chef asked her what could improve and they working with her to c...
They have two chefs, one had a medical issue. Went to hospital came back and was there for awhile. The second chef per mom is not as great of a chef as the first chef in house. She said the chicken was undercooked and very rubbery. The Chef asked her what could improve and they working with her to cook what she likes best. According to mom, they don't always provide the activities that are said to be had on the specific day. It could be do to participation but not certain. The exercise program though is wonderful. The doctor had changed some of her medications and the strengths of those. There was some confusion on this change but they are correcting it. The communication is great, they will return any messages or get any messages to her if she is not answering her phone. The only other complaint is the cable will tend to go wacky when we have storms, which is a known issue but they are working on it to get corrected. The staff has been wonderful all around from top to bottom, highly recommend.

I wasn't as pleased with it as I was hoping, but it was decent. They showed me some of their activities but it wasn't a lot to it. They gave me a pamphlet and told me that it was all in it, but there wasn't much to it.
