The Auberge at Vintage Lake: Thoughtful Senior Living Outside Houston
Residents at The Auberge at Vintage Lake enjoy light-filled common areas, comfy decor and amenities that make everyday life a joy. There are raised garden beds for growing veggies, a billiards room for tournaments, a senior-focused fitness center, a full-service beauty salon and even an on-site movie theater. Everything is built on Main Street, a centralized location that lends the community a warm feel and helps residents find their way. The colorful activities program takes full advantage of these beautifully designed spaces, giving seniors chances to dance to live music, play lively group games, do pet therapy and join friends for happy hours.
Thanks to courtesy transportation services, much of the fun happens outside the community, too. Loved ones might head out to shop, dine and enjoy nearby attractions like the Houston Botanic Garden, the Fallen Warrior Memorial, the NASA Space Center and the Houston Grand Opera.
The Auberge at Vintage Lake: Impeccable Care Services
There’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all care at The Auberge at Vintage Lake. Before moving in, older adults and their families work with staff members — which includes a Medical Director, LVNs and CNAs — to create a personalized care plan. They’ll choose from a menu of assisted living services that includes everything from medication administration to activities of daily living (ADLs) like showering, continence, grooming and more. These care plans can be revisited at any time as needs evolve.
For loved ones with declining memories, the Montessori-inspired memory care program provides calming spaces, a holistic events calendar that aims to reduce cognitive decline and individualized, compassionate care from staff members trained in dementia care.

The friendliness of the staff members get 5+ stars and based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend The Auberge of Vintage Lake to other families. Our loved one has not been eating for weeks but has always said the food was very good and what I was able to sample was great. We also like the access to shakes, water, snacks, etc. Our loved one does not participate in the activities but from what I observe there is a lot and there are a lot of happy residents and caregivers. We are happy with the cost. Mom is now on hospice but it was a terrific value for us when they managed her insulin!

The food looked amazing. We picked this community because, everything about this place was right. This place was amazing. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

I would tell others that I had a significant problem with medication administration and things being given as ordered. I had to put my loved one in the hospital because breathing treatments were not given as they were supposed to be The place is divided into assisted living and memory care unit. My understanding was the cognitive ability of patients is supposed to be similar among the wards and that was not the case. If your parent can communicate, the spark program is being done and it is a great program, but the cognitive ability of residents are not comparable so not many people can participate. I would not recommend this facility to other families looking based off our experience.

My fathers room constantly smelled like pee, we found a fallen resident in his bathroom in the dark and no one knew he was there until we alerted the staff, many of his clothes went missing or he would be wearing other people’s clothes, many times he wouldn’t be shaved or cleaned up. The list goes on. My dad is 6’4” tall. Most of his life he was well over 200 pounds. After he left the Auberge he weighed 136 pounds. Their response for his weight loss was how often he walked the halls. Yes, he was walking a lot, but that means he needed more calories to supplement that. We asked they supplement him with protein shakes, yet we would find them still in his fridge from our last visit. The staff was always nice to us, but the level of care needs to be vastly improved especially for residents who need more help. I do not recommend the Auberge at Vintage Lake.
Read moreBeautiful place but horrible management. Money matters more than care. Caregivers are too few and not trained. Chemical restraints are the norm.
They presented it so wonderfully, but it is not as promised. I receive very little help from management. There is currently a Covid problem, and I don't think it's being handled right. They're not Covid testing people with symptoms if those people protest. They don't have enough staff to provide...
They presented it so wonderfully, but it is not as promised. I receive very little help from management. There is currently a Covid problem, and I don't think it's being handled right. They're not Covid testing people with symptoms if those people protest. They don't have enough staff to provide adequate care. The other day, they had only one caregiver for the entire place. There's nobody to unlock the doors for you when you come to visit. I am not happy.
