The initial cost quote was low balled and once my loved one was there, it became apparent that the price was going to be $[removed] more per month. My brother had and has been taking his own medications for various conditions for over 50 years, but they insisted that they had to do it. They were unwilling to let him do this. Thus, the cost was significantly more than expected and well beyond his monthly income. Each month was billed in advance. When he moved out, we expected to pay the balance of the month for rent, but should have been reimbursed for the "nursing" (giving daily meds) service. This was $[removed], which on his income is a large amount. I have been trying since October (nearly 6 months) to get this refund. They never return calls!!! I would not recommend dealing with this community!!

We are waiting to hear back from Sunrise of Westtown. You can be as independent as you like, but you can also have full care. For example, they can oversee medications, dressing, showering, and changing for incontinence. They do just about everything. They have nurses on-staff. You don't have to take all those services, but they offer it. It was a beautiful facility. It was arranged and designed very well. Each floor has a central location, and they call that a hub. Then the hallways to the rooms kind of branch off of that hub, and they call them spokes. It was very well designed, and it was absolutely beautiful. It was very clean with fresh paint and decorated nice. I couldn't say enough about it. It was just beautiful.

The community is a good mix, I wish there more residents who don't have dementia. My loved one doesn't eat the breakfast but usually goes down for lunch and dinner, and the food was not that good, my loved one stated the meat was chewy and they ran out of wine for the residents which has happened a couple of times, and the wine mostly is undrinkable as the taste is bitter.

I toured Sunrise of Westtown. It's a good feeling. The grounds are fine. They're well taken care of. I was assisted by the person who runs the place, but it was fine. She was very helpful. She answered all my questions. I checked the menu, but I did not sample the food. The menu was good though. As for activities, certain people were reading and watching TV, and that's about it.
Read moreWent on a family tour it was a decent overall tour, found it to be a little older than one of the others on the top of our list. But certainly very clean and well kept up.
