Full disclosure, I used to be the Executive Director here (from October 2019 to July 2020). Having worked in this community does not make me partial to it, though - if anything, it makes me more critical. I know every inch of the building, I know the strengths and weaknesses of the team, I know the community''s potential, I know all the positives and all the negatives. That being said, I would move my own loved ones into Sunrise of Morris Plains in a heartbeat. There is tremendous longevity among the team, especially the frontline staff; it''s a well-established community that has been providing exceptional care for over 20 years. It''s always spotless and free of unfavorable odors. The residents appear happy, clean, and well cared for; it is evident in every interaction with every team member that they are loved and respected by all. Aesthetically, it''s not only beautiful but HOMEY. It feels like home from the moment you walk through the doors. Sunrise of Morris Plains is a very special place and was truly a highlight of my ED career.

I am completely appalled with the experience I just had here at Sunrise. We were dealing with a passing in our family and the "nursing director" Julie, was nothing short of disgusting. During such a sensitive time she gave our family attitude the whole entire time, made nasty sarcastic comments, and...

I am completely appalled with the experience I just had here at Sunrise. We were dealing with a passing in our family and the "nursing director" Julie, was nothing short of disgusting. During such a sensitive time she gave our family attitude the whole entire time, made nasty sarcastic comments, and accused us of stealing because we were looking at our loved ones pictures. We were so mortified by her behavior that when our loved one passed we didn''t even want to tell her because we did not want her anywhere near us. With spending well over 1 million dollars in this place I am shocked that you allow such an insensitive, cold hearted person to work in this field.
