My mother, 90yo, with dementia has stayed in the hospice center twice so far. Those of you who care for someone with dementia know how scary new situations and new people can be, but the staff at St Anne’s made her feel so well cared for and safe. After both 5-day stays, she has come home with glowing reports of how wonderful everyone there was. From my heart, a huge thank you to them all. Edit: She’s been there 3 times now. Excellent!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER TO THIS CENTER. If I can give this place a 0 stars I would. To make a long story short, my grandfather passed away within hours of being in this center. He was taken in at around 7pm and passed away by 10pm. My mom and I arrived and he was still wrapped in the sheets from the ambulance, his positioning on the bed was uncomfortable and slouched. The nurses hadn''t even given him water. My mom approached the doctor to express her concerns and the doctor said "you need to find the nurse and tell her what you need" he was no help whatsoever. There were only 3 patients in this section and 2 of them were sleeping.... the nurse was nowhere to be found. We ended up helping my grandfather ourselves, and thankfully we had taken him some fruit because they did not give him any food. Then, the doctor came into the room and began speaking to my grandfather and provided incorrect information regarding his levels of care along with incorrect diagnosis. He told my grandfather he had open heart surgery which was incorrect, he told my grandfather he had a massive heart attack, again INCORRECT. He told us my grandfathers diet was liquids which again, INCORRECT. Any patient hearing this information especially it all being incorrect would get anxious or hesitant with receiving care there. I tried to stop the doctor and revert to speaking in English since my grandfather was only Spanish speaking but he continued and said "WOW everything the hospital has put here has been incorrect information" the moment I mentioned 1 thing was wrong he should''ve removed us from the room and discussed the information he had with my mom and myself instead of it all being in front of the patient. Anyway, prior to my grandfather being there he was talking, laughing, everything was going well besides his oxygen levels. But, within hours of being in St. Anne unfortunately due to the lack of professionalism and lack of moral/ professional ethic we lost our father, grandfather, uncle, son to lack of care. Both the CNA, and the nurse had 2 different stories as to how/ when he passed. Even though after our initial complaint was made the director was very attentive, this doesn''t take away the fact that you should not take your loved one to this center. 0/5

I’m going to keep it to the facts only. The first time I visited my mom, she had a stack of meal trays that hadn’t been collected all day. The second time I visited, there was an employee sitting in her room on her phone doing nothing, she ran away when she saw me. The third and most egregious thing was that medical capacity had been taken away from my mom, and they had her making her own medical decisions. They didn’t call me a single time, I’m pretty sure that’s not legal. When I asked who made her medical decisions and why I wasn’t informed they all had no idea. That is my warning about this place.
