In early December my husband had an emergency hospitalization caused by a different senior rehab facility. Upon his release from the hospital, he entered into rehab at the Springs at St Andrews. What a difference in facilities. From day 1, the friendliness and help was and is outstanding. People come in to visit with him. People know his and my name and talk to both of us. The nurses are so good and caring. The CNAs are wonderful. The physical, speech, and occupational therapists are great and really seem to care about their profession and want the patient to succeed (This did not seem to be the case at the previous facility). All of the senior level staff have been very open to questions, comments, and concerns. I feel that my husband has found a new family that cares about him and I am very grateful.

My mother was taken to this facility after being released from Medical Center of Aurora. The first room they had her in looked like a storage room - nothing on the walls, and an incredibly loud oxygen concentrator that sounded like a jack hammer. No requests for information were ever answered by the staff, every time I asked someone for information like what''s the plan for my mom''s recovery and where is she in that plan, the answer was always "I don''t know, but I''ll ask" and that was the last I would hear from that person. I was never given an answer to the simple question of what''s going on with my mom. She was eventually taken back to the hospital but the Springs lost her wheelchair. I''ve been trying to get someone to look for it but it''s the same response that I received when I asked about the rehab plan for her - nobody knows anything and I honestly don''t believe they care at all for the patients in their care. Poor care and no information/communication. I will never allow my mother, or any other relative of mine that may need this type of care to go to this facility and would not recommend it to anyone.
