BEWARE!!! My first review (below) was from when Phillip and PJ ran the facility. Now, under the new mangement...I wouldn''t let my worst enemy move in to this place. The management is the worst...if there is even mangement. We moved my Dad out of this place over a year ago and after moving him out, we found out that the current management gave him a bad review to his new place. They claimed they had to give him a thirty day notice. He never got a notice. They never had a problem with him the entire four years he lived there until AFTER he told them he was leaving and told them that he was leaving because he wasn''t happy there anymore. This place ended up being more of a depressive feeling assisted living facility with horrible food (menus were never correct and always late) and lacked the staff that was needed to accomodate the facility and residents. When we moved my Dad out, a lot of other resident''s family members were there and said they were moving their parents or loved ones out also. Management would scream at staff and a few residents in front of us. I would call and ask questions about concerns my Dad had and they would literally scold me over the phone. If you care about your loved ones, please choose another facility. This place is just nothing but cruelty and neglect. ----------------‐----------------------------------------- (4yrs ago) My Dad lives here and my brother and I met him for lunch one afternoon. The food was great. So much food. The lunch service was wonderful. The director and his wife are amazing people.

Solstice Senior Living at Lee's Summit was a beautiful setup. The apartment was a lot roomy and beautiful. They had really nice amenities. It's too expensive for me, but I'm sure it would make a nice place for some people. It wasn't as homey as some. It was more like being in a fancy hotel, but it was very beautiful and there were very nice people working there. They have a salon, a gaming area where grandkids could play with pool tables and some other games, a crafts room, and a puzzle room. However, the halls were so long that I would have almost needed a motorized cart to get around the halls to the rooms. It was a very long walk and I was out of breath by the time I got to some. That was another factor for me not choosing it. The staff member during the tour seemed very nice, very friendly, and very helpful. I only got to meet two staff members, and one was a salon lady and she was very nice. The dining area was nicely setup and big, but the length of the halls to get to the food was very long. I saw a two-bedroom, which is what I was looking for, but the second room was very small and odd shaped. If you needed assisted living, you could transfer right over, and they had a connection with Medicare to help with some of that. The apartments did not have a kitchen. All they had was a refrigerator, a sink, and a little cabinet.

We went to Solstice Senior Living at Lee's Summit. Very limited personal care, but primarily for my dad and his wife, the assistance is in apartment cleaning and meals. They liked the way the common room was set up. We arrived for our tour during a Friday happy hour when they had live music. And my dad being a musician and a family of musicians, that appealed to him. They ended up with an available apartment; two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. They both need a bathroom, and two bathrooms are important. It's on the north side of the building so that their balcony is shaded in the summer and not baking into the house, heating the apartment. So those two things seem to be the most important to them. I liked the staff. They were good. They have several community rooms one they call the library, and one a game room. There's also a room with a pool table and an air hockey table. So, there are things to do. They have laundry facilities available, though laundry is done for them once a week. They can do an extra load if needed, which for my dad unfortunately is frequently necessary. They didn't have the most amenities and facilities of the places we viewed, but what they had appealed to my dad and his wife. They were ready to move in before we left the tour.

I toured Solstice Senior Living at Lee's Summit. I like the convenience of it as it's close to shopping and it's close to downtown. I saw two bedrooms. The tour was nice. The staff showed me around. However, they don't have handicapped parking. The dining area was nice. The atmosphere was nice. It's like walking into your home. They keep them active. At the time, there were residents playing cards and doing puzzles, and some of them were in the library reading. They have an exercise room, a game room, and a pool table. The person who gave the tour was nice and knowledgeable.
