Between their home health side, who we had to get rid of after the home health nurse literally told me she was not qualified to help, and later meeting with their front staff for a possibility of moving my mother there, I do not have one positive comment I can say about any part of their services. I had been provided information that this could be the case prior this to meeting with them, but wanted to verify myself, understanding circumstances can be different for everyone I would HIGHLY suggest pretty much any other place in Lees Summit if you are needing quality care for your family member. The village home health honestly, should not be in business. However, the front staff at JKV to provide info if your parent should live there was unbelievably disappointing and not very knowledgeable. It''s very unfortunate.

I just returned from visiting a relative that lives in the Manor 1/Villa 1 building. Once again the elevator is out of order. This happens far too often. The elevator was refurbished a year ago, two weeks worth of work, and it is worse than before. John Knox Village puts out advertisements about how they are a wonderful facility. Yes, they do have a lot of nice things for seniors, but just don''t expect a working elevator to be one of them. C''mon, JKV, you can do better than this.

My mother was a resident in the memory care at JKV. They were so short staffed they used a staffing agency…Not the best situation for seniors with dementia. There were no activities and the residents sat in front of the television for hours with movies playing. They weren’t allowed outside on the patio for months as it was not properly secured. The house doctor prescribed my mother a medication for anxiety that causes memory loss. They really didn’t seem to know how to deal with dementia patients and I’m happy my mother no longer lives there.

I find it amazing how JKV has declined in the last 2 years. it used to be the premier location - No longer. Restaurants are never opened you have a choice of 2 restaurants, if you''re lucky. The food is very poor quality. if you look at jobs, they hardly pay staff anything. if they would quit tearing down homes and rebuilding new homes perhaps they could get quality staff that stayed and keep all the restaurants open and pay their staff. Honestly, i wouldn''t tell anyone to live here. It''s really gone down hill!! Care center isn''t in much better shape. Staff shortages and unattended care for your loved ones. Find someone else for your loved ones to live.
