If I could leave 0 stars I would absolutely NOT hesitate. I have had 3 family member admitted to long term care here and have been treated poorly by all staff I have interacted with and spoken to. Quick synopsis, I have been dealing with this facility on and off since my grandmother passed in 2014, long story short, they “lost” her false teeth and, additionally sent her back to the hospital for treatment shortly after she was admitted. They told my highly anxious grandfather where they had sent her. They sent him to the wrong hospital in the wrong town and he proceeded to panic when they told him she was not there. I proceeded to call the facility and ask them where the had actually sent her and the highly skilled staff managed to hang up on me three times as it seems no one knew how to use the hold button on the phone. How you misplace an entire HUMAN I do not know, that takes talent. We drove around to other area hospitals until we found her. My grandfather passed away this year at the end of January. I talked to probably every nurse, cna and social worker in the building tried to go through the proper channels to see if I could be added to his paperwork as an emergency contact-NOTHING, I received no call backs nothing. I was even hung up on by a nurse who perceived me as combative because I was fed up with being sent to voicemail over and over and over. I was not even contacted that he had passed. I know there are rules and regulations that need to be followed, but I tried that and no one contacted me when I asked repeatedly for information. I got a call this morning from an affiliate agency that my mother had been admitted to hospice care. I called Solaris to ask if she had been transferred to a different facility how she was doing, etc. I was called “hun” which, I made clear that I didn’t like maybe I’m in the wrong for that but after all of the runaround I’ve been given by staff, I’d at least like a respectful Miss or ma’am. The young woman who answered the phone said she was going to put me on hold and transfer me to the nurse, I tried to explain my hesitation as I didn’t want to talk to another mailbox, she kept cutting me off, and I tried to stop her and ask her to let me finish. She proceeded to raise her voice at me and tell me that “I wasn’t going to tell her to stop talking” and she hung up on me then I immediately called back and waited for about 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone. That’s nice, hang up in someone’s face who’s trying to get information about their mother who’s on hospice. And I don’t expect to hear back from them even though I’m her next of kin and only child. And for more context I live in Massachusetts, so these are the only people I can rely on for information regarding my mother. These people seem like they genuinely don’t give a flying f*@$ about patients of family members or the patients themselves. Thanks for the peace of mind Solaris.

Through a series of events, both of my parents wound up in temporary rehab at Solaris at the end of 2023. Though their stay there was not perfect, there were a few of the staff there that went above and beyond in making the situation very good. Specifically, Hannah in the front office outdid herself to assist getting Mom and Dad settled in; Virginia Bernard was a great advocate for my parents when it came to their "next steps" at the time of discharge; Katie in Speech Therapy was compassionate and engaging during her sessions with Mom and Dad; Karrie in wound care was vigilant; and Manuel was my parents'' favorite caregiver during their stay. Because Solaris has dear people like this on board, it made all the difference.

Shop around if you can and make sure your loved one gets into a rehab facility that can actually help them recover. My loved one did a rehab stint here after a hospital stay and was discharged in worse shape than when she went in. This was due to this place not being able to properly address the problem, admitting they weren''t able to, but still kept her there for weeks, sucking up Medicare, instead of assiting in finding and moving her to a place that could actually help her. Needless to say we after being discharged from Solaris, we wound up back in rehab less than a month later but were very fortunate to find a decent place that helped tremendously with recovery. On the plus side, the rehab staff was ok and the entertainment was good too. The administrative staff was responsive. Visit your loved one, advocate for them, ask tons of questions and if something doesn''t feel right...make a change.
