We chose Holiday Sky Peaks for my friend because of the casual style. What I liked the best was the view and the surrounding park. The worst thing would be the timing for eating. They don't have much of a window. It takes a long time when they serve. I have been dealing with them for quite a while because I was looking for myself, and the management and everyone were really super nice and helpful. They have bingo and special events. My friend goes for walks, and when the weather was bad he did use their little gym.

Things have been good for my dad at this facility. He seems to be doing fine here. One of our goals was to get him more socialization and he's doing that at this facility. He's made a group of friends and is participating in the activities. He is doing painting class and Bible Study so far. They offer a good variety of activities. He says food is a hit or miss, as far as quality. Sometimes it's really good, sometimes not. From what he says, Lunch is almost always good. It's dinner that is a hit or a miss as far as tasting good. Housekeeping is once a week and his place is always clean. However, he's a neat freak. So I'm not sure how much of that is from his doing and how much is from Housekeeping themselves. Communication with the family is fine. The staff has all been very friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to family and friends.

My father has been staying at Holiday Sky Peaks for a little over a year and a half now. What I really like is the management and the community itself and the people that live there. Recently, my dad's been a little wobbly on his cane and the manager called me up and said, "Hey, I think your father is not looking his usual self. Maybe you should call him up and see what's going on." I called him up and he says he's fine. It turns out that he had fallen and he didn't tell me because he didn't want to bother me and make me feel bad and drive all the way over there. I went over the next day and found out that he really didn't look good at all. I took him to the emergency ward and it turned out that he had COVID. Thankfully, it was in the really early stages and they caught it in time. He spent a week in the hospital and he's still in rehab now, but he'll be fine. I just shudder to think what would have happened if the manager wasn't kind of watching out for everybody and hadn't called me to give me the heads up because the doctor told me it's treatable now because it's in the really early stages. If this had gone on another several days, then maybe not. I really appreciate that. All the people that work with her, the activities person, they're just in it for the right reasons. They're wonderful people. This is a wonderful, caring community. They really do love the people that live there. It is independent living and they shouldn't have to watch the people or have anything to do with them, but this manager knows everybody individually, knows their habits, knows what they do every day and their routine, and if something isn't quite to their routine, then she goes and checks or have somebody check on them and make sure everything's okay. It's really above and beyond what a normal manager would do. They do three meals a day in the central dining room. They have a guest suite, so I stay there a couple of times a month when I go there. My father likes the food. They do a pretty good job with what they can get with their food allowance. They do some really fun, creative things and it's gotten a lot better. We went to a couple of different places and had some lunches and dinners and it's right up there with some of the better ones. They have about three or four things a day that they do. They do a morning exercise and they have an afternoon bingo game. Every Friday, they have a little dance party down in the rotunda. Everybody can come and dance and then they do crafts, and once in a while, they have little parties, like they had a little Haunted House last weekend. There's always something every day. They have games that they play, card games, and trivia lunch. One of the things that my dad does is they have brain games on Tuesdays where they can come and do all the puzzles and kind of exercise their minds a little bit. They have people that come around once a week and clean his apartment. They really take care of him. The girl that handles the activities is just incredibly selfless. She's so cheery and upbeat. She's like a little Doris Day kind of person. We looked at some other places that were a lot pricier that we didn't like as much. I'm happy to pay whatever his rent is. He's so far away and I can't keep an eye on him, so it's really important that I feel like he's safe and people are taking care of him, even though it's independent living. They don't have to, but they do, and all his friends there kind of watch out for each other. It's really an amazing place. When he went into the hospital, they circulated a card around and I brought it to him and it made him cry.

We are very grateful for the compassion and care provided for our Mom by Sky Peaks for the last two years of her life. The staff at Sky Peaks would often go above and beyond to take care of her needs. Even in the height of the pandemic, they made adjustments to ensure the needs of the residents were met in a safe and secure manner. Mom loved her apartment! She had views of mountains and trees with snow in the winter and beautiful fall colors in the autumn. Highly recommend this facility!

My Dad has been a resident here for about a year and a half and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the people who live and work here. We toured several facilities, some very pricey, but this is where Dad wanted to make his new home. I live about 4 hours away and so I had to make sure he would be happy and safe when I couldn’t be there.Let me tell you my very recent experience. Two weeks ago the manager Deborah called to say that my Dad didn’t seem to be his usual self. There’s over 100 residents here and she knows every one personally. She keeps an eye out for anyone who might need assistance or just a kind ear. Anyway, even through my dad said he was fine( he never wants to be a bother) when I called, I decided to come down in person to check on him and ended up taking him to the emergency room for a check. It turned out he was in the early stages of what could have been a very serious medical condition. He’s much better now and in rehab soon to come back home. Thanks
