My husband in his late eighties fell and was taken to Kennestone hospital. After 4 days of excellent care we had to find a rehab facility in 2 hours. We chose Signature on the basis of location and reviews. We were so lucky. The staff is fabulous. Nurses, therapists, aides, staff were incredible. They immediately knew him, his history and greeted us by name. The skill level was exceeded only by the compassion. It looks drab and dated, but it is a jewel. If you have only 2 hours to choose, move Signature to the top of your list. My husband could not turn over in bed. He could walk and care for himself when we left after 4 weeks and is now back to normal. I credit the rehab and care.

I would give a zero rating for this facility overall, if I could. My mom stayed here for recovery of a non-displaced hip fracture. She was supposed to stay three weeks, but we got her back home after 2 weeks. This facility is out of date and lacking in cleanliness. Four patients share one bathroom, which is stocked only with paper towels. If you want to wash your face or body, you need to use paper towels to dry yourself unless the staff finally brings you a linen towel. However, there is no place to hang your towel except for on your bed rail or chair. The seat over the commode is not clean, and remember, it is shared by four sets of buttocks! There is no shower except for a shower room used by all of the residents. You are scheduled twice a week for a shower. The food is subpar in taste and quality. I assume that the facility is understaffed because no one hardly answers the yells/calls of the patients. The PT and OT were the only saving grace of this facility. Also, the evening manager was as friendly and as accommodating as she could possibly be. She was the only person who made me feel the slightest bit comfortable with this place. Otherwise, I would not even bring my dog here for its last days. I have heard that there really aren''t any better facilities around this area, so best of luck to anyone who needs rehab.

I left this facility at the beginning of October and I’ve been thinking hard about what review I want to leave.. This facility has wonderful nurses, CNA‘s, physical therapists and occupational therapists. The problem here lies in the leadership. As a result of a medical situation, I ended up in the rehab section of this hospital. I was admitted in September. At first, I had high hopes for this facility. my main goal was to receive physical and occupational therapy in the hopes of returning to the full functioning adult that I was prior to my medical condition. I met several of the staff, including the activities staff and therapy staff. They seemed wonderful and eager to help not only myself, but everyone else around me. I would say there seemed to be a little bit of lack of communication among admin but nothing really mattered until I was heading towards the end of my stay. As per usual, in order to renew insurance coverage, certain information has to be obtained from the company by the staff of the hospital. They were made aware of this and there was a phone call set up with the nurse practitioner. She had come to me that morning and spoke with me. She assured me that she would convey to the insurance company that I couldn’t yet stand on my own and needed continued care. I later found out that my continued coverage was denied by my insurance company because this nurse practitioner told him that there was nothing else this facility could do for me. I don’t understand why she said one thing to me and then one thing to the insurance company. There was also another doctor that spoke with my mother about the situation. She was advising my mother that I should apply for Medicaid in order to be put in a long-term nursing facility. My mother had to inform this woman that that was not the goal that I did not need to go to a long-term nursing facility. I was a full functioning adult before my surgery this summer, and the goal was to get me to stand up and be able to pretty much take care of myself again. This woman acted like she had no idea what my condition was, and thought that I was basically lost cause. This is alarming because this is a person in a position to make decisions for me and my care. She seemed to have no idea of my medical history. Then without explaining it to my therapist, in the interim of waiting for insurance continuing coverage they stopped my physical therapy. This lead to a total of three weeks of no physical therapy and no occupational therapy which led to a significant decline in my recovery. I was informed by the physical therapist that had I been allowed to continue my therapy that I would’ve been able to stand . This facility is absolutely ridiculous. to top it off after they discharged me unable to stand, and needing assistance in my parents home they accidentally took my own paid for custom wheelchair back to the facility. When my family contacted them about said wheelchair, they never returned our call, and when we spoke with them, they said they had no record of said wheelchair. This led to my father having to contact the Marietta police department and get an officer involved in obtaining my wheelchair. When he called, they still insisted they did not have the chair. My insurance caseworker sent me an email confirming that she had spoken with a staff member that said yes indeed they had the wheelchair. When my father showed this email to the police officer and the police officer conveyed this to the facility; they all of a sudden found the wheelchair and then had it waiting for my father to be picked up. We are quite sure this is not my original wheelchair, but since it is very close to the one that I had, we accepted it, because it apparently was them, scrambling to find something since they were aware the police were involved. This place is absolutely ridiculous and once you get past the base level staff, no one cares, nor do they do their job, YOU IDIOTS I DIDNT GIVE 5 STARS. You SUCK!!
Read moreI recently had a loved one here! Rehab was good, however she was left unbathed for over a week, food was cold and inedible, and facility smelled of urine. Every time I checked on her she complained of being cold. Still needs rehab and refuses to go back to this facility.
So many many ways they do not communicate with families. They give misinformation, they refuse to listen to doctors appointment information, they send loved one to ER without permission. The phone lines can be busy for hours. The ownership is out of state and can’t actually help with care planning...
