My parents-in-law stayed in Kensington 1 unit for the last few years of their lives. It is a Russian unit, one out of the 2, and our family experience with it was wonderful. We are so grateful to the personnel who took such a great care of our loved ones, it was outstanding and very personal, as well as the administration and doctors who were always there for us, helping to understand and navigate the system that had been very confusing at times. Probably the best available program for Russian speakers in MA, it will suffice to say that like many others we were happy to be accepted and commute from the North Shore to visit the parents one or two times a week for more than 3 years, it was all worth it. Caring atmosphere, various programs and activities catered specifically towards the Russian population helped us secure high quality of life for our parents during the most trying times. I wish all the best to the program and highly recommend the facility to everyone who is looking for the best placement for their loved ones requiring long-term care and constant medical attention.

I stayed at Rotal Rehab in Braintree after a full knee replacement. The staff were wonderful so caring & always kind & beyond helpful. That was my first time ever staying at a Rehab & I highly recommend. Royal Rehab for your lived ones. I want to personally Thank each one that worked there that was involved in my one month recovery. They made me feel like I was home. I left there wanting to hug & kiss each one of them in helping with my recovery. God Bless each one of you. They are all such loving & caring people that I will never forget. Amen. Cathy Furey Paulsen

My Father caught COVID back in May of 2020. It did a number on him, but he fought and won the battle. He went to Royal Rehab for PT (physical therapy) where he was doing good making progress as days went on. Later it was determined he needed Long Term Care (LTC), which is where the problems began. I brought my father clothes, sneakers, personal hygiene items, family pictures, etc. As he was transferred from PT to LTC his clothes were "lost" but it was never mentioned to me until a rude staff member approached me during an outdoor visit, "They didn''t tell you your father needs clothes?" Uhhhh excuse me? He shouldn''t need anything. I had just brought a 13gal sized bag full of clothes. I even saw them in his room during a video chat. She walks off with an attitude. Me not trying to create any uncomfortable situations for my Father I let it go and brought my concerns to mgmt (Sam). I was advised to replace the items and that I''d be reimbursed upon providing proof of purchase. I replace everything, provide copies of the receipt, wks go by and now his clothes finally appear? That''s ok. At that point I just hoped the new clothes made it to him. Several outdoor visits my Father seemed depressed and had ashy skin as if the lotion and everything else I provided wasn''t being used. He was also brought outside in a stained wheelchair. Again I complain, but took it a step further getting the Medicare Ombudsman involved as complaints seemed to fall upon deaf ears. The staff was rude to the Medicare Ombudsman during our 1st visit where I had to let the person (Cathy) know she was with me as I had never seen her with an attitude before. The tone changed but she was adamant about her needing her own PPE to enter the facility. We was turned away as she claimed my Father was sleep and couldn''t make the visit. How is that possible when I called at 730a to make sure he''d be ready for the visit at 10a and was assured by staff (Jean) that he''d be ready for our visit? Again, me not wanting to cause harm or any wrongdoing towards my father I let it go. 2 mths later he''s unresponsive. When going to get his things I ran into an RN who used to care for my Father. She gave her condolences and admitted they were all scared and that pts/residents weren''t getting the care they deserved as everyone was scared. She also stated they had positive residents around those that were negative. How is that ok? Sam walks by and says, "Hey kiddo we just lost another one today." Not even acknowledging my loss and apparent grief. Just heartless. My Father did not pass from COVID, but I say that to say this... I wouldn''t recommend this place for anyone needing Long Term Care for a loved one. I can go on and on, but it took a lot for me to even say this much.

My father was there for a short stay. He fell and was left on the floor for close to an hour and the nurse didn’t call 911. Instead she called the non emergent line to the ambulance company. I know this because I was on the phone listening to him scream non stop in pain asking for help. It wasn’t until I called from a separate line asking what was taking so long that I found this information out. If a nurse cannot critically think with a simple fall, it’s scary to think what else is happening in this place.
