We needed respite for my sister who has frontal lobe dementia. She needed memory care. From the day we brought her, everyone has been kind, respectful and just delightful. Before we got in the door, we were met by a lovely woman, saying “Is this my new friend? She’s going to be very comfortable with us”. She runs the activities and is amazing. The woman who cares for her most of the time has a peace about her. My sister can be very negative, but she allows this lovely woman to do what needs doing. She even calls my sister Mama, which I find endearing. The people who cook, clean, serve food and other jobs are also delightful. I’d have no worries about Sunrise. It’s a lovely place.

My husband moved in at Sunrise of Braintree. I haven't been able to eat with him, but he complains the food isn't too good. But other than that, everything else seems to be fine. The staff that I met is fine. He likes to read and he likes to watch television, but he's not too active in the activities that they have there. His room is nice. It has large nice windows that look out to the street. The bath is shared, and it separates two rooms. He's been alone there pretty much since he's been there. He has the larger of the two units. He has a refrigerator and a television. It was laid out very nicely. The whole facility is nice and very clean.

For the second time in three months, my uncle is about to be discharged from an in-patient rehabilitation hospital. My aunt just learned that “if he returns home, he’ll require 24-hour care.” We arrived at Sunrise of Braintree with heavy hearts to meet with sales manager Taylor Burns for a tour. Two hours later we left, hearts much lighter, with a clear understanding of what needs to happen to preserve my uncle’s dignity and safety going forward. Before our tour even began, Taylor took the time to learn about who my uncle was earlier in life, and who he is now. She skillfully explained what needing 24-hour nursing care looks like, as well as the costs and challenges of obtaining that level of care in the home. Taylor navigated our overwhelm and the resulting emotions beautifully, and helped us see the benefits of moving directly from the rehab hospital to a place like Sunrise. While on our tour, we met and spoke with staff, residents, and family members. We were happy to see the beautifully laid-out and well-appointed assisted living and Reminiscence areas, and were impressed that a security lock on the door was the only difference between the two! We also saw the models of both apartments available. Before we left, Taylor even reached out to the rehab hospital’s case manager to discuss my uncle’s impending discharge, and schedule an assessment by Sunrise care team members as quickly as possible. I’m beyond grateful for Taylor’s caring assistance, and can’t wait to visit my uncle in his new home at Sunrise.

When my (BIOLOGICAL) Father entered (2015) Sunrise, Braintree, Ma.(1 - BIOLOGICAL) sibling quickly erased & eliminated (2) Siblings. By lying & claiming Power of Atty., he prevented his Siblings & (78) yr. old Paternal Cousin - Kidney Cancer dying from ever seeing their Father/Uncle, again There seems to be NO familial fail safes in place @ this facility to prevent this family tragedy from occurring, again. There seems to be NO familial balances / discussions as to who can/ cannot visiting incarcerated relatives @ this facility. My Brother told everyone in State of Massachusetts from (2) Nursing homes to Crematorium /Funeral home, he is " ONLY HEIR/ CHILD" of our Father. So far, this heinous brother is 100 % believed, aided & abetted across State of Massachusetts. Our Father died INTESTATE. He left NO Will & NO Legal documents stating he never wanted to see his (78) yr. old Niece or his (2) Birth Daughters, again. The ramifications of this family tragedy, which Sunrise of Braintree, Ma. continues into (03/2022). Facility Administrators have supported 100% my brother. Even going so far as to verbally call me out for NOT VISITING our incarcerated Father. When it was already well documented (1) Sibling held 100% Power of Atty. While our Father was alive, staff claimed only way to visit /contact our Father was to ask only brother for ADMITTANCE! In my work life, I have held (3) US Government Security Clearances, I was NOT going to ask for Fatherly visitation from the likes of a common Massachusetts street criminal! It's amusing to me, that our US Government always found me to be credible & honest person (fingerprinted, US Government investigated, Police Dept. investigated, etc.) Sunrise of Braintree, Ma. & Mass laws would rather adhere to fraudulent statements of street criminals than allow visitations to DEMEMNTIA laden Father. There was only (1) chance for his dying Niece, to visit him before she became too ill to make long journey from New Hampshire. Street criminals like my brother tend to be coddled & abetted @ every turn. Via Attys, by Nursing & Funeral Homes while (2) Daughters, both with US Government Security Clearance were intentionally, forced out of their Father's elderly life. This heinous, false action continues to be supported by all Professional entities, around us. Familial tragedy, 100 %.
