Sharon and her staff are the absolute best! They really go above and beyond for each of their residents. The genuine love they show for them is something rare and so very special. ♥️

When I arrived at Regency House, they had a desk to the right, and I asked for somebody to speak to, and their staff came while I was there. The facility had a flood, and it was under construction. They had moved half the residents to the other half. I don't know how they did that, but they had to move and shuffle people around. That's not their fault, but they're going to have to do something major to prevent it from flooding again. It was in our price range, so we were able to afford it, but there were no rooms available. So, we got on the waiting list, and they said it would be six months, probably before there would be any openings. The lady was nice. The people in the facility were a huge range of different types of people. They seem more dementia patients. I talked to a few of them while we were waiting. I would say that if that was my only choice, I might have put my dad there and his room would have been on the second floor, but I had another choice. The facility was clean, and it looked nice, but it wasn't upscale, like the other place I visited, which wouldn't matter to me, but it could matter to other people. People were in their rooms. The contractors were there making a lot of racket. They had a few people sitting in the dining room, and everybody else was in their room. The staff were very kind and very nice. I don't think it's a good idea to make a two-story house into an assisted living house. They put in the elevator, but I do think the stairs are a little dangerous for older people who don't have dementia and might use the stairs even if you tell them every day not to.

We toured Regency House and it was the first time I've ever been in one. It was nice. It was a very nice tour, and we really liked it. The only thing is it is so little, but I got to get used to that. The people were very nice and were extremely informative. There was a lady named Kelly and then there was a nurse, I think, I forgot her position and name, but they were very, very helpful, and very nice as far as finding out things. The place was good and clean. They were remodeling, so there were a lot of boxes. They had just received the dining room chairs; they were waiting on the tables. It was already nice and clean, but it would be very nice. I had visited people in homes, but I guess it was a nursing home because I was just thinking I couldn't stand the smell. That's why I keep saying it was very, very clean. I hadn't thought of it until right now, but you didn't even have to think about smell. I liked it. I was just kind of drawn back with the size of the rooms. The staff was very, very helpful for me in offering good advice that we did not know. She knew that this was our first tour and that we were just getting into this for the first time, and she was very, very helpful. Food was on their list, and I had planned to ask them for one, but I didn't notice it until I got home. My daughter passed the coffee pot and she said she'd like to have a cup of coffee, and the staff said she didn't know how fresh it was, so we didn't go there. We'll call and I would like for us to sit down and just see how the meal is. They gave me a brochure, but we did not tour the outside. We went in the front door on one side, but they do have something. I saw a bench or something out there. I asked one of the staff that helped me out to the car. I had a walker and she walked me out to the car, and I asked her where the flowers are or where they are supposed to be because I like a nice courtyard. She just said, "Well, it's wintertime right now," and some other things. But it's just that I didn't see one. They wash for you once a week. So, they do all of the washing. In the room, there's a microwave, a refrigerator, and a nice little counter set up. There were nice closets, too. It's a nice little deal. I looked at a one-bedroom and a studio. I don't think a two-bedroom was not mentioned. I guess they are like middle range as far as price is concerned.

I had an in-person tour of Regency House. The staff that I interacted with were nice. I just didn't like it. The staff answered my questions. She took me on the tour and interacted with me. At the time I went, they had just had a flood, so all the flooring in one of the hallways was all torn up, and it was just cardboard down. I guess the part I saw that wasn't damaged by flooding, I'll give it a rating of three. For the amenities, there was nothing that stuck out to me.

We went to Regency House. My mom did not like it, and I did not either. It was the first one she went to and she said she'd feel like she was in jail. There's no parking and they were doing a lot of renovations, so it was kind of messy. They had us go into some of the rooms that were occupied, and I didn't really like that. I felt like I was intruding, even though they acted like it didn't matter to the person. It just didn't look that clean to me. It didn't smell that clean either. The rooms were really small. It just really turned my mom off and it made me realize I wouldn't want to be in there, especially because my dad is still alive. So it's both of them and I can't imagine having two people in one of those rooms. Everybody seems pretty happy. I mean, they didn't seem like they were mistreated or anything like that. It just seemed kind of, there's really no place to go outdoors, or sit outside. The girl that gave us the tour said she wasn't the one that normally gets the tour. The girl that did was out sick. I consider that because it sounded like it wasn't her job normally, but she was very nice. I think she could have shortened the tour quite a bit, but since that was our first one, you don't know. I know they had games, puzzles a lot. Somebody was doing puzzles.

My mom has been in the Regency House for three weeks now, and they've definitely met my expectations. Their staff is very friendly and seems genuinely concerned with the residents. They interact with them. It's just a good environment. I think there's maybe a capacity of around 50 or so, and it's more of a family feel than a nursing home. What I like the most is the care that they provide and the location. It's convenient for me because it's located between my work and home. It's also a place that gives us the best care that she needs. The rooms are really nice too. They're almost like a little small apartment. She has a living space, and then a little small separate bedroom (which is all hers). It's private, so it's nice that you could bring all your own furniture and stuff from home. They have daily activities like trivia and bingo. They've been really good to work with. They've called me, kept me up to date on different things, and go above and beyond in what they could do.
