The staff is great! My husband was very weak and had no appetite when he first arrived. They worked with him and got him stronger, made sure he ate, and the staff was super nice.

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star! My mom left the hospital (from being in the hospital for a week) to Pruitt for rehab. Mama fractured her wrist and this was her second time hurting the same arm/wrist. Mama is 83 and we were told she would have assistance. Well, long story short…mama called for help to go to the bathroom before going to bed. She said she wanted to go before everyone settled down. The lady came in and told mama that she had to pee in a diaper. She was told that they could not take her to the bathroom. Mama went on her own! Not safe! Then mama said the next morning she woke up to a flashing light in her face. Mama said that she remembers having a white cloth over her hands and a flower. The program director said they knew about the picture and what it was for, but why startle an elderly lady at 7am to take a picture? Needless to say, we took her home and I will never send her to a place without checking the reviews!!!
Read moreSocial worker Melissa is unprofessional. The service there is too slow, I believe they are understaffed and the nurses spend time playing around a lot. The physical therapy is great though.
Mom lives at Pruitt Athens Heritage. I must hay that the nurses here are a loving bunch. Caring and friendly with all their patients paying special attention to all their needs.

My aunt was placed in this facility on 1.13.24 after being hospitalized at Piedmont- Athens Regional for a week. While she was at Piedmont participating in physical therapy, she was diagnosed has have a condition that prevented her from walking without assistance or using the restroom unattended. She also had an open wound near her private area that needed to be cleaned, covered, and kept dry at all times. The social worker assigned to her case stated to our family that Heritage was made aware of all of the accommodations she required before she was transferred to their facilities for rehabilitation services. Since my aunt has been at Heritage, she has gone 3-5 hours at a time, multiple times per day, on multiple days without being checked for urine or fecal matter. She has been forced to lay in bed for 3-5 hours at a time in her own waste with an open wound, which is highly disturbing. The nurse station alert remote that is in her room does not work properly, and whenever the nurses do decide to come to do their job and attend to her needs, they place the nurse station alert remote too far away from her to reach it. Some of the nurses and CNAs that have worked with her since she has arrived have been unwelcoming, short spoken, and all out rude to her. Apparently the only good thing about this facility is the food according to my aunt. A disgusting suction tube of some sorts has been left in her room since her arrival and has not been cleaned nor removed from her room. The staff seems to be more concerned with socializing with each other in the hallways and looking at their phones more than they are concerned about keeping up with proper and consistent schedules as it pertains to caring for their patients. Pruitt Health could benefit from increasing the rigor with their hiring, screening, and training process. This is not the first time one of my family members has experience negligent health care practices while staying at one of their facilities; The Oaks is not much better. The way in which patients are being treated and attended to at Heritage and The Oaks is absolutely unacceptable, and Pruitt Health needs a class action lawsuit filed against them immediately. No rehabilitation/nursing home patients should be subjected to the type of abuse employees of Pruitt Health Care facilities such as Heritage and The Oaks are giving out without a concern or care. I would highly suggest that if you or someone you love is in need of rehabilitation or nursing homme services that you do not choose any Pruitt Health Care facility in Athens, GA.

I am giving this a 3 star because this place has very little help. I was told today for 90 patients they have one CNA and 2 nurses. This is unacceptable and I realize noone wants to work anymore but a patient is the one who suffers. The Nurses are very nice, the room is spacious but no telephone in room. This facility does not smell like a nursing home and that''s a plus. I suggest if at all possible try to take care of your loved ones at home.
