My father moved in in September 2023 with hopes this would be home for years to come, but it only took a few months for it to go downhill. The medical staff is caring and supportive of residents but the owners and management could not care less about the residents. Recently there has been a bed bug infestation that went on uncontrolled for weeks. The families of the residents were not notified of this. Several of the residents and the manager had Covid so the facility was locked down. The families again the families were not notified and DEHEC was not notified either. The new owners decided to rent the independent living apartment. No notification was sent to the families about this decision. Pacifica has not provided any security for the residents of the assisted living. The individuals from the apartments freely roam the halls and use the facility as a short cut to get to Family Dollar. When I confronted Kim, the manager, about the security issue she informed me there were no plans to hire a security guard and the residents of the apartments were not a threat to the residents or staff. I have moved my father to a more secure facility in February. I fear for the residents still there since they are vulnerable individuals and the staff since they are there at night with no protection

My brother will be moving into Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn. The reason we chose that one is that's in the vicinity of where he lives already and is probably about a mile and a half from his friends and then to his family. We all live here in the Spartanburg County area. It was very nice. I like the way that all the different areas are connected with hallways. We went to the dining room. We were there for lunch the first day we were there visiting. The meal was very good. Yummy, yummy, yummy. I like the idea that I can go out and visit and have lunch with him or dinner. Everywhere we went, it was clean. It's not brand new fancy, but it's very nice. They have specials every day. They have a little menu that if you don't eat on their regular menu for that day, you can pick off of that one, but you have to go to the main dining room for that. We went and visited in the larger living room. They had some game tables in there. They had several little seating areas and then they had a room that you and your family can visit in there. They have a nice little chapel in there. They have services in there and that's a plus. They've got a nice little library out there. I liked it. Everybody we saw was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and answered all the questions that we had. Everything was clean. They were cleaning as we were there. I didn't see any problems whatsoever. We did get to walk down the hall in the area where my brother is going to be. One of the ladies that lived there said, "Come on in, y'all can see mine," so we just visited with her for a little bit and saw her apartment and my brother said, "Yep, I like this" and so we just went for it. I was pleased with everything.
