Was abused by being beaten my aid for asking for supplies. While this was happening I screamed for help but no response. Held my wrists together while beating my head against table. I have pictures and called the police.. Recordings and photos I have from my iPhone for verification purposes. Along with that I was called racial slurs from this person..nevertheless he was not fired or suspended . Arrived her for short term therapy as I had recently broke my back and hip from fall also went through surgery placing a rod to connect my hip and back together.. I am on a floor that is only for Alzheimer and dementia patients. I have neither.. Food and staff are horrible..my medication never given. This goes on and on. The patient and staff are all black and I am referred to as little whitey! My for transfer is naturally bei is being held to return me to a place where I will get the necessary therapy so I may walk again.. I have a masters degree I lion marketing very active I community that is a one hour drive from here. No relatives near , I will make certain after this horrific incident that this place be shutdown due to noncompliance of state health regulations and negligence. The patients here cannot mentally reverse their situation but I as being of sound mind can. No one deserves to be neglected as they are..physically and mentally..again I have documentation. The families of these people are probably thinking they are being taken care of.. not.. With all the money they receive from insurance and their own incomes this is a disgrace be neglectful to the upmost degree. If I can help just one of these people I have done what is necessary to us change this horrible situation. No one deserves the physical and emotional neglect that comes from this facility.. Tand numerous others in America.. shame on you!

I was a former employee at Mayfield Heights Healthcare (STNA). I have seen and experienced the ins and outs of many other facilities; some have been better than others. This place…is THE most horrific place I’ve ever witnessed. They always had supplies for me to do my job-plenty of linens, briefs, soaps, etc-but that is not I will be reviewing. It’s the conditions the residents and (good) staff have to endure. Let me list them: 1) The hallways are lined trash cans. They are picking up dingy, mildewy ceiling water that comes from the rotting ceilings. This is also the same in residents’ rooms. I have nearly slipped and fell multiple times and have crashed my meal carts onto the trash cans, which spills dirty water on the floor. 2) Budgeting is so tight that even snacks are rationed out to the residents (like two tiny cookies max a day). Sometimes, they don’t have options to give to residents because they simply couldn’t get them, so my residents were super hungry until each meal, sometimes until the next DAY if I run out of snacks from the evening snack tray. 3) Speaking about meals (which ties into the budgeting), they are AWFUL. To be fully honest, I wouldn’t feed a stray DOG that food. I have found hair in meals that I had to help feed residents. I open the cloche for the trays and a smell like some of the food has sat for too long hits me and I have to hide the fact that I’m GAGGING under my mask. 4) Most of my residents lose dramatic amounts of weight because the food is absolutely disgusting AND (if they’re dependent on someone feeding them) the aides feel no obligation to take time out of their “super busy” schedule to help them (which I’ll get into in a moment. 5) Including poor appetite, most of the aides fail to provide ice water at the beginning of every shift, so most of the residents are dehydrated and begging for water. 6) Residents live in absolute SQUALOR and no one bats an eye about it. When you walk onto the floor for the first time, the overwhelming smell of an improperly cleaned up brief blowout and stale urine that was poorly covered over with watermelon scented floor cleaner hits you like a freight train. Most appliances never get dusted. When a new admit comes in, all housekeeping does is sweep and mop the floor and MAYBE make the beds. Every room has peeling mildewy wallpaper looks like it hasn’t been changed since the 80s, covered in trash, soiled linens, poop-covered wipes, and sometimes food that has MOLDED OVER ONTO OTHER OBJECTS. 7) Horrific neglect. I mean like patients sitting in dirty briefs not just for hours…for a whole DAY. The shower rooms are so horrible because they are just used as storage. Why? Because no one showers the residents. Residents can casually go up to over a MONTH before being showered and no one will care. Not even a bed bath. Nail care and dental care? Nonexistent. Hair care? Fight for your life for that privilege. Basically, if you aren’t independent, prepare for living like a caveman. And I saved the worst part for last… 8) THE AIDES To keep it short, I will simplify all the points into little bullet points. • Stealing residents’ food and possessions, including money • Eating off meal trays BEFORE handing it to the resident. • Yelling at residents for pressing call lights • Laughing at and gaslighting residents during sundowning and episodes of confusion • Loudly swearing and screaming down the hall to other aides • Taking pictures of residents • Video-chatting, calling, texting people, and listening to music while performing patient care (usually with headphones in both ears) • Letting call lights run over 30+ minutes at a time • Sleeping in empty beds in empty rooms during shifts • Smoking in empty resident rooms • Verbally fighting with other aides because they looked at them funny or helped chart an independent resident. • Giving an attitude if you attempt to give report for the next shift • showing up almost an hour late without notifying anyone ________ I WOULDN’T SEND MY WORST ENEMY HERE. RUN FAAAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
