If you are visiting their "Fastcare" (the only racket in town unfortunately), plan on staying at minimum three hours. If you are sick, you are better off driving to traverse city or cheboygan. You can drive there, get treated, drive back before you''ll even see anybody here. They should change the name to "Turtlecare: try not to bleed out in our waiting room please". UPDATE: we drove my son up to Souix Ste Maria, we''re seen immediately, and he was diagnosed with pneumonia. Stay away from "Fastcare" if you can avoid it
Read moreWent to this ER while I was on Vacation after falling on Mackinac Island. Everyone was so kind and courteous, and provided excellent care, helping me with my injury. Highly recommend them!
I called the ER before being transported there. I was/am very ill with Covid. I haven’t eaten in 4 days and have explosive diarrhea. I explained my symptoms and asked if they could help me, here’s his exact words “Probably not”. He would offer no advice concerning protocol with Covid.

Cultural Diversity has it place. The Doctor at this ER needs to be retrained. Dr. Neri gave me no reason to ever return or have faith in his care. He did not introduce himself from a housecleaner. Came into the room and started asking evasive questions. "Who are you?" I even had to ask. Uncompassionate, cold, and distant is the only way to describe this "Professional." He ordered tests came in the room once and I was given a handout how to treat Gall Stones. I did not need self instructions. I could have downloaded instructions from the internet. He even thought me to be drug seeking. Given a choice I will not use him. The rest of the operations at the Hospital I was impressed. Everyone from the friendly nursing staff, the CAT scan people were amazing and even the ultrasound tech. Who even introduced herself as Charity. A big shout out to these people. The timing and scheduling to get me care was spot on equal to or better than any hospital in the world. Dr. Neri soured the whole stay. He actually released me while still in pain. When I contacted the VA, they told me to return to the hospital for care since I was still in pain and he did not treat me. If my Gall Bladder would have ruptured after the release or I went septic you would have serious legal issues today. I contacted Congressman Jack Bergman about this stay and his staff are working to help get me follow-up care that should have been provided or transferred me to a care facility that could provide care.

My Mom has been at the Venetian since February of 2021 and on the whole we’ve been very happy with her care. She has awesome nurses, lead by Unit Manager Ed, Sue, Pat and Peggy are such kind and genuinely caring people. Even the nurses that fill in have been great. CNA’s are great too, Trinia, Rose, Courtney, Bernadette, AB, Roland. Such a tough job, I’m so grateful to them. Lena and Samantha in food services are awesome too. Lena takes good care of Mom, always making sure she has something she likes to eat and always updating me with the new menus to make sure Mom is happy with her meals. The activities department is absolutely wonderful, headed by Annette and Teresa. Especially, during COVID, they worked so hard to make sure the families were able to facetime with the residents and did all they could to make a very difficult time a little better. Teresa would always do her best to schedule visits so that residents could visit with their families as much as possible. The girls in activities are so great, Gladis, Sue, Wendy and Megan. They really try to get the residents involved, with music, games, exercise, bingo, manicures and many other fun activities. Annette is so wonderful, she genuinely cares for the well being and happiness of the residents. There were days where I couldn’t get in for a visit and she would make a point to let me know that Mom had gotten involved with one of the activities and how much fun she had. It made my day! She would also just check in to say hello to Mom and see how she was doing on a daily basis, which I know Mom was not the only one she did this for. It really makes me feel good, that on the days I can’t be with Mom there are kind, caring people looking in on her. I’ve met so many kind people since Mom has been at the Venetian, especially Aisha, former activities member who was promoted. I don’t know what I would have done without her early on and she still makes a point to visit the residents to see how they are doing, even though it is no longer in her job description. The maintenance department is great too, Anthony, Tim & Jules, whenever we’ve had any issues, they come up right away to address it. The receptionists are so nice too, Diane and Esther, always doing whatever they can to help and it’s nice to come in to a friendly face. Thank God for all these wonderful people. My only criticism is that I wish they could hire more nurses and aides. I would hate for Mom to lose the wonderful Nurses and CNA’s she has because they are overworked. These are not easy jobs, both mentally and physically exhausting. A happy employee makes for happy residents and in turn, happy family members. Corporate, please do whatever you can to hire more amazing people and above all keep the amazing people you have, believe me, they are hard to come by and should be rewarded for their hard work. Thank you to all the amazing caregivers at the Venetian, if I missed anyone, I''m so sorry, our family is so thankful to you all and we appreciate all you do.
