Heritage Ridge, as far as I''m concerned, is THE BEST facility in the area to have your loved one placed. The nursing staff is caring and competent, the facility itself is clean and organized, and I have to give a shout out to Cassidy Keilman who made the application process smooth and seamless. I highly recommend Heritage Ridge at Johnstown to anyone who has senior-living placement needs.

A Family member lived in the Allegany Lutheran home for four years until it was bought by Heritage Ridge. That''s when everything went down hill. She got out one night unattended and was found laying in the parking lot bleeding from her head. When they went for assistance no employee''s could be found. 911 was called. Two weeks later the administrator called and said she would have to get out today or move to full care with no 30 day notice. The family offered to purchase a wonderguard system for the place but was turned down. They had to scramble to find another nursing home which they did with the outside help of Eillen Graham who was wonderful helping in this difficult time. The simple solution is a wonderguard system to keep all residents safe. Shame on this nursing home.

My father went there in July 2023 and within 3 weeks was told that he was going to be long term or discharged. No Care Plan meeting nor did we sign any letter saying that he was cut from our insurance. After numerous of phone calls to Kassidy. She never responded. My dad was cut and either expected to leave or stay long term. No one helped us at all. I am so grateful that I work in SNF in an another part of PA and was able to transition my dad to hospice at my house. This facility did nothing to aid with our transition nor help my dad while he was there. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Thank the God Lord that my father had outside assistance to help him. If not he would have passed at your facility with no comfort. Shame on all of you. At this date, my father who what a Man with dignity, passed one month ago, at my house on hospice, with dignity and respect

I could not be more grateful. Mom''s hip broke and she went here to the Lutheran Home for ~20 days after being released from surgery and the hospital. Even though they were understaffed at times (it''s 2023, we all know), they STILL delivered a GREAT quality of care for her. She received appropriate rehabilitation to bring her home, too. All of the staff was kind, gracious, and helpful, both with my mother (who has dementia, no less), and with my family and our frantic questions and nitpicking (making sure she was appropriately taken care of). She WAS! I also thought the food was great, for the most part (I ate Mom''s leftovers, daily). 3 of us visited her at different times daily; we KNOW she was treated WELL and appropriately; there was NO "sitting in her own waste" and such -- at least not for long periods of time. Was everything 100% perfect? No, but nothing is -- and we certainly won''t be now that Mom''s home, either. I''d still rather she be here compared to elsewhere if -- knock on wood -- the need arises again.
