Every time I visit my loved one I leave mad and in tears because of the staff. They pay very little attention to the patients in Cherokee Trace. One staff member did nothing but sit on the couch chatting the two hours I was there. She never once got up to check on anyone. Patients were even asking ME for help. When I told her, rather than get up, she yelled across the room to ask what they wanted. Their system is to ignore the patients except feed them 3 times a day, clean them up twice a day and give them medicine. And the ones who can''t eat don''t get fed. Their meal just gets thrown in the trash. My dog gets more attention and concern for his well-being than she does!

Came to find out that one of my favorite aides that I was so pleased with had quit today. PLEASE believe the negative comments you see. that aide went above and beyond to make sure that her patients were well taking care of including me. I know when Shes here I''m in good hands. She made me feel like I deserved to be taking care of, lex extended care will never keep aides here they chase the good ones away just to keep the spoiled rotten ones. there''re days were its 12+ residents to one CNA these poor girls are over worked burnt out and no one is to blame but staffing and managers. SAYSHANA was an amazing aide and I''m deeply upset. I don''t blame her for leaving she deserve better than this place and so do the residents here it would be great to have one aide your used to working with u other than every day it''s a different aide you have to keep explaining how you''d like things it''s frustrating.

This review is only for Medicaid Long Term Care. The majority of the staff just tolerated my mother and did their job while others treated her like someone who didnt deserve respect at all. One nurse called days after a request for an update to tell me what a horrible person my mother was as though it was my fault. She lost 60 pounds in two months. They sedated her to the point she couldnt eat and treated her in such a way she didnt want to eat. A brand new USC blanket disappeared at Christmas as well as my mothers cell phone. They offered to pay for the phone. How do you out a value on contact information, photos, and memories. I wouldnt put a rabid dog in this long term care facility.

Lexington Medical Center released my grandfather to this place while he could not even walk or eat on his own. The day after he arrived, we were told we could come see him. Then we drove 40 minutes here and then was denied. We came back a week later to see him and they finally let us in. His “emergency nurse call” button was tucked under his back (mind you this man couldn’t sit up on his own so there is no way he could’ve put it there), his water was on a table about 3 feet from the foot of the bed where he couldn’t reach it. And he vomited blood all night and all morning before they decided to call us and send him to the emergency room. Sadly, he passed away the following night after leaving this facility. But we were also told there were about 14 patients per nurse here, which is far too many for one person to handle. I strongly do not recommend this place.

Patients are suppose to be given baths twice a week, DOESN''T HAPPEN. Patients suppose to have every 2 hours turns from side to side, side to back, DOESN''T HAPPEN. Patients are not given all prescribed meds that their Dr have prescribed. Patients are not taken to doctor appointments outside of facility. The staff doesn''t even care about the patients. The are lazy or don''t know/care how to do treat the patients. When they would call for help, help probably didn''t come until 30+ minutes later. It''s pure elderly abuse. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I recommend this place needs to closed permanently.
