My 89 year old mother-in-law, with advanced dementia, was in here just two weeks, for respite care. When she went in she could walk with her cane and walker, but when she came out, in just two short weeks she was so weak that couldn’t even hold her head up and she had bedsores. One of the bedsores was so big that you could fit your fist in it. Two days after returning home she was rushed to RI hospital. It was determined that she was sepsis and so severely dehydrated that she was going into kidney failure. In just two short weeks she lost close to 16 pounds. She spent a week in ICU. She was in such bad condition we thought she was going to die. She pulled through and spent another week in the hospital recuperating. Her condition was so bad, after Only two weeks mind you, that RI hospital actually reported Linn care for severe elderly neglect. She has never regained her ability to walk around, because she spent two weeks at Linn in a geriatrics chair, because apparently nobody had the time to walk around with her, then two weeks in a hospital bed recovering from her near death experience by this so called “health care facility “. These people knew that her stay was only temporary and would be going home, but still failed/refused to give her any form of care. Not even the basics. She was treated as if she went there to die. They did nothing in the line of “health care”. People. Do not place your loved ones here. They will not be cared for. Especially if they have any form of dementia. If they aren’t going to be able to tell you what’s going on, the staff at Linn will stick them in a chair and let them starve (“we asked her if she was hungry and she said no”) as their body shuts down from dehydration. If they manage to get to their water that’s placed just out of reach ( something that my sister in law noticed they did to MIL, when she went to visit…staff was observed sitting around with their faces in their phones, when she complained about the lack of available water). Even if they’re able to get to their water and can respond that they are hungry and would like something to eat, they’re most likely to die from the infection streaming through their blood stream from the festering bedsores. Stay as far away from this facility as possible. (Former Nursing and Medical Assistant )
Read moreBeen here three weeks. Leave tomorrow. The food is good, the nurses and CNA''s are great. The physical and occupational therapists are sensational. Shout out to Chris, Jen and Kim. Thanks for helping this old(er) guy out!
It''s a great care center with a devoted staff and the whole team is the best
Over the past few years I have recommended Linn Health Care Center to 2 close friends who have both had successful rehab and therapy care after knee and hip surgery. The nursing staff was so kind and caring, and the food was good too!
Falta de comunicação entre as famílias de pacientes, muito descaso com os paciente
I am so grateful to the Linn Health Center staff for their efforts to take care of my dear friend in such a kind and loving way. My friend is blind and finds new environments very challenging and anxiety producing. But she has praised the staff for working with her to make her stay there as pleasant...
