This place is continually understaffed and management expects one person (CNA) to care for high care/needs people (fresh out of heart, hip, etc surgery) up to 18 persons when there’s not enough staff and management pulls the help from the floor instead of actually getting in and helping. Handful of long term staff are extremely rude to new staff and communication is horrendous. I would not recommend a friend or family member to work here or admit themselves here as this place does NOT provide adequate care. Several incoming patients left without doctors recommendations or approval due to this place does NOT give good care.

My husband has been there less than 24 hours. He had surgery and needs help with everything. When he presses the call button, no one comes. I would normally be there to help him, but due to Covid they are on lockdown. To get help he has to call me so I can call the office. This has me so scared for him and upset. Please help the people who are in need. Treat them like you would want to be treated.

When my mother was discharged from their facility she had blood in her catheter bag. When I asked for an explanation I was told by the person who wheeled her out that they didn''t know why. When I called to speak with a nurse I was told that once a patient is discharged the nursing staff aren''t allowed to access the information in the computer. A few days later my mother got a bill in the mail for $1600 copay which included a document explanation regarding rheumatoid arthritis. I called again to find out who diagnosed my mother with RA. Again I was met with an "I don''t know." I called their billing department and left a message which was never returned. I spoke with a social worker and she told me she would look into it. A month later my mother got another bill which brought the total owed to $5, 280. This time the bill included two billing codes which no one would explain to me what they were. And then the nasty notes and threats started. One social worker claimed that Kootenai Health diagnosed her with RA. I called Kootenai Health and spoke with someone in Medical Records. She told me no one there diagnosed her with RA. So I called Life Care Center again. Now they are claiming that RA means Re-admittance Advice and it has always meant that and that her insurance company sets the amount of the copay. I asked for a plausible explanation of why someone would put a document in with the first statement explaining what rheumatoid arthritis is. No one will give me an answer. By the way my mother has had multiple strokes and has the mental capacity of a young child, and they know this, not to mention I have medical power of attorney. They have a copy of her power of attorney. They will not tell me who gave her this advice without my presence. Now the latest threat came from the Director, himself. He is going to contact the company Attorney if my mother doesn''t pay the bill. It is beyond my comprehension how this facility could have been named Number 1 seven years in a row. They are dishonest and this reeks of medical and insurance fraud. I also wonder if anyone else''s loved one has had a similar experience. I asked for an explanation
