My father has moved into Lanier Village. I particularly like the communication with the care manager there, Alicia. She was very instrumental in making all of this happen. My father is in New Jersey and I'm here in Georgia. There was a lot of coordination that needed to happen among myself, Alicia, my mother in New Jersey, and doctors' offices in New Jersey to get all of the necessities completed. Alicia was very instrumental in helping with that. Anything they put in front of my father, he's eating. He is in the memory care unit, so there are not a lot of things. He's a little bit beyond most of the memory care residents' ability to do, but they do things like music, which my dad amongst others can relate to music, and sing some of the lyrics sometimes. They've been coordinating with outside people to come in there and perform for the memory care unit residents, which I think is very good for them. The staff is very friendly, very supportive, and very patient. He is comfortable in his room. In the memory care unit, a lot of the residents have incontinence as part of their dementia, so things don't smell the best all the time, but they can't open up windows and things like that either. There's not a whole lot to complain about. It will probably be the same in almost any facility.

My son was hospitalized in January 2023, first in ICU and then in an Accute care Hospital.. in late April of this year he was able to move to Lanier Village. We moved him there so it would be close and I could visit. The Nurse snd staff helped me find a Dr to visit him there. The nurses see that he gets all his meds. He has made improvements there and they see that he gets great care. He has a studio and it has a fridge and microwave and private bath with handicap features. They furnish wifi and cable tv connections. He likes the food and the dining room and also the large great room area. He is pleased with the care he receives there and I am happy he is in a clean well cared for place so I can visit him there.

My loved one is a resident at Lanier Village. All of the staff are friendly and willing to answer questions about the residents. I would recommend this facility to friends and family.

Mom repeatedly complained about just one thing while she was there, and it was that she felt that someone was always pushing their religion on her. I don't have specifics except that when she went to do something (can't remember which activity), "you had to sing hymns or do a sermon before they would start." I personally didn't feel that the facility was very secure. It seemed that there was never anyone at the front desk and someone could just walk in and go wherever they wanted to, unchecked. The staff was very personable and friendly. They made it an easy process to get her in and out again as we needed.

The food is okay. We picked this community because, they sold really well but they have not delivered. They did a good job of telling me everything, but have not followed through with those things. They need to improve on individual care, and ratio of residents to staff. They could also improve on communication, and cleaning . Also, they have had a turnover in staff.
