It's not unusual to see managers doing clean up, serving food, or general items. So far, not a bad meal according to Mom. Only thing I might change is rotating out food occasionally. I think Fridays are "Fried Fish" night. I would think after awhile, that might get old, but she loves the fish. Friendliness....everyone on the staff knows everyone and their personality and caters to each. Activities....I had to stop and get rolls of quarters and nickels for bingo. Seems to be played a lot. Also, gets her nails done pretty often as an activity. Cost....very fair from what I've seen. Was told the facility/network has recently been SOLD, which was news to the residents. A lot of them are a bit nervous as a whole since it seems to have come from out of the blue. In a wait and see mode. :)

My mom decided to stay here. It's a very caring and accepting community. Everyone is very professional, and they care about their residents and they respond quickly to needs. The bedrooms are larger than some of the other places that we looked at in the Kingwood area. They've been updated to some extent and they're very amenable to her needs. They serve healthy and tasty food. There are options most days and they are well prepared. They have bingo, church services, and workout facilities. There's a lady who comes in twice a month that does health and wellness activities with them. They have ice cream socials and the residents seem to like it very much. They also have a doctor or a PA that comes there so that they don't have to leave. There are rehab facilities and occupational and physical therapy on-site.

I went to Holiday Cypress Woods. The people that run the place and those that take care of the people were wonderful. I locked my keys in my car, and they helped me get help. It was just wonderful. I just wish that the place was updated. The dining room is nothing special, but that doesn't have to be. It looked older even though they were painting it and it had carpet on the floor, which I prefer not to have. However, the staff were great. They're wonderful.

I went here, and that's the one I've decided on. I really walked in there and felt at home. The staff member was very kind. They did not seem condescending to me at all. It was wonderful. She introduced me to the residents when we were going through different things, and even the residents were nice. It's not a big fancy place. They don't even have a big fancy exercise room, but I'm not a big, fancy person, so I fit in and felt very comfortable. They have a library in there and I'm a reader. They have so many different things. I was just very impressed. The room was a little small, but I've lived in smaller. They serve meals, but if you don't feel like having their meals, they have a kitchen thing there for you to be able to cook your own if you want. I love the tranquility of it. It was just very calming to me. The staff was very nice, and that hadn't happened to me in a while. I told my brother I don't even want to look at nothing else and explained that I've chosen this. I wouldn't mind living there at all. They will even take me to my doctor in Tomball. I was amazed. To me, it was just perfect. They showed me the recreational room and bingo goes in there. There were people in there learning how to paint different things. The lady that did the activities say they do all kinds of things every week for the residents. They showed me a room that had wall-to-wall books. I'm either reading or crocheting, so it was perfect to me. The staff member called each person by name. That woman cares about these residents. I lived in an apartment for three years and didn't even know my neighbors. They're not the most elaborate place, but as far as caring and nurturing, that is a total five. The facility was very nice. There were so many things to do. You could either sit in your room and watch your TV, or you can go downstairs. They have the dining area and the cooking area. They have a room where people just put in puzzles, and there are like hundreds of puzzles there, and there's a card table there. There's everything that old people like me want to do.

It is a good community. They have good activities for the elderly. They have caring available for them and I would recommend it to anyone interested in living there. They have prayer meetings, dominos, and various games, puzzles, reading, and movie nights. The physical appearance is good. They have a salon, a medical facility, and a caring unit. My mother has a one-bedroom unit, which has a kitchenette and a living room area, and it's a sufficient size.
