The staff makes Essex House a safe and a wonderful, caring environment. They go out of their way to address any needs that may arise. My mother has been there for 3 years and my only regret is I should have moved her to Essex House sooner.

My father has been in Holiday Essex House for three years now. It was a great fit for him, and it was not far from where he lived previously, it was easy for my brother and I to access. The people there were very nice, he was there during part of COVID as well as since COVID ended. They handled everything very well. The other residents are very friendly. The food was really good when he first started. He said that's kind of gone downhill. But, I guess they've had some budgetary issues with the new ownership, but it's not awful. It's just not as good as it was when he first moved in there. I think they care about the residents. It's not the newest, most polished place that is out there, but it's reasonably priced and it's comfortable. The people that work there are very, very pleasant and the residents are very pleasant, which I think is all very important. He's very happy there, but it's a financial issue. He's made friends there as well and they have activities for people, and it's been a good experience. It's just, his needs are different now, financial and physical. I know the meal times are very social, plus they do different activities for every holiday. They bring in people to do activities such as musicians and I think there are games and they bring in different activities for different holidays. I know the bands are definitely one. They bring in music. They've had food trucks there and they do stuff with the families as well. It was a positive experience. The only criticism I would have is because it is an older building, then there are some issues that come with that there. Sometimes there are electrical issues, or some things like that have to be tended to that you might not have in a brand new place.

I moved into Holiday by Atria - Essex House. I like the price, the food, and the very accommodating staff. They have several activities throughout the day. They have an onsite physical therapist, a barber, a chapel, a library, and a hydration bar where you can get coffee, tea, water, and fruit and that kind of stuff 24 hours. My apartment is comfortable, not large, and it's beginning to feel like home now. And they've been very helpful in helping me get my furniture arranged, hang my artwork, and hook up cable and Wi-Fi.

I've moved into Holiday Essex House. I've been there one day and I had to go to the hospital. My interaction with the staff was good. Tina and Ryan gave me the tour, and they were excellent. My apartment is excellent. They have a variety, but I'm in a one-bedroom. When you come in, you have the kitchen, the dining area, the living room area, the bedroom, and the bathroom. I have a balcony. They got plenty of activities, and the lady does a great job. One day, they were going to one of the steakhouses. They have an activity floor. I'm in a wheelchair, and my room to the elevator is very far. I'm looking to get an electric wheelchair right now. Also, the bathroom is not handicap accessible yet.
Read moreWe picked thsi community, because there was a time urgency. It seemed to be nice, clean and friendly with activities, and it was close to my house for visits.I would highly recommend it.
I toured Holiday Essex House and it was great. It's a lovely community. The facility felt very welcoming. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. However, my loved one thought that the other facility that we toured seemed more homey than this one.
