Grace Elderly Care has been such a God sent to for my Dad and my family. My Dad went from independent to dependent overnight from a series of strokes over one week that caused severe vascular dementia. Most likely he had mini-strokes before that time, but he was good at covering up his memory loss until that day. In the hospital, I was told that he could never be alone again. I was overwhelmed with lack of good options for assisted care after visiting too many facilities in a very short period of time. That was until the social worker told me that one of the neurologists had his Dad at Grace Elderly and loved it and best of all they had room at that moment for my Dad. When I visited, I knew immediately that the staff was different. Now, after a year, the staff know my Dad at this point in his life, as well as I do. We call Grace Elderly his apartment, and his body is in better shape now than in the last 10 years. His diabetes is in ck, his blood pressure in ck, his weight ideal, his medications reduced. It is sad to say that the damage to his brain is permanent, but the care and attention he receives is beyond that I could have hoped for.
