I had an automobile accident in 2013. I had a tibia plateau fracture that needed surgery and therefore I was placed at Santa Rosa Post Acute which was called Golden Living at the time. The funny part is it was literally next-door to where my sister lives!!! I did get great care but there were points at which I had to advocate for myself too with staff. Physical therapy was excellent as well as occupational therapy. I still give credit to the RN staff for their concern for their compassion and for their help that it might’ve been done imperfectly at the time. I would still highly recommend it no matter what. I don’t even hesitate!!!

THEY INTENTIONALLY GAVE MY BROTHER COVID! My brother was a patient there in December 2021 when COVID was found to have infected several patients and staff. My brother and his roommate were tested along with the other residents. The roommate tested positive and my brother tested negative (and he was entirely free of symptoms). For approximately 48 hours they kept the roommate in the same room with my brother, knowing that this was an intentionally dangerous exposure for my brother. The roommate was coughing frequently and was unmasked the entire time. As a result of this prolonged exposure, my brother started having a cough. When I called and spoke with the manager Sharon, I was told that they intentionally did not place the roommate in another room because they did not wish to create an additional "red" room (meaning contaminated). She insisted that it was totally within the protocols to intentionally keep my brother in close proximity to a known infected patient. I informed her that I lived out-of-state but that I would be making the 240-mile drive to remove him from this unsafe facility. When I arrived they were doing a quick COVID test on him and, not at all surprisingly, he now tested positive. I will be filing a report with Adult Protection Services when they are in the office Monday morning.

This is the worst care facility I’ve had the displeasure of interacting with. They steal or “misplace” painkillers and belongings from senior citizens. My mother had to recover there from a stroke. She called me up sobbing that she needed her painkillers (oxycodine) for her many psychical body ailments but staff was telling her that they “misplaced” them. My mom couldn’t get her prescription renewed and had to be in pain much longer than she should have needed to be. I thought something was fishy but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as I usually try to believe in the good of people. Then she had an emergency and needed to be transferred to Kaiser. When I followed up with SR Post Acute about her belongings to take to Kaiser they were mysteriously gone, including a brand new iPhone I bought her for her 70th birthday. I discussed with Audra what happened and she said they would look for the phone before calling it a loss and paying to replace it. I don’t hear anything for two weeks so I visit the place to get an answer, they said they would pay for a replacement. Great news, or so I thought. A week or two go by, nothing happens. So I go in person and I am directed to Mason, someone in charge of processing lost items. He says it will be there in a week. Yet again, two weeks pass and nothing. I go in person to try to talk to these people as they can never be reached by phone, and every time I go down there, they are “in a meeting” and cannot speak to me. I just find it interesting that the only things that are “misplaced” are items of value, her painkillers and brand new iPhone. It’s so incredibly disrespectful to waste my time like this and to treat my mother like this after all she’s been through. She’s had two strokes, pneumonia and a blood infection all since June. If you care about your loved ones as much as I care about my mom, don’t even walk into the building and find someone who will actually them the compassion and care they deserve.

If the staff were caring I would have thought they would have asked my Mom if she wanted to call anyone or that the staff would had phoned to say " your Mom arrived safe". Obviously can''t wait to get her out of this place.some of the positive reviews must be fake. One of them is from a year ago and talks about being with family? This place was not allowing visitors during the peak of covid!
