The staff is very friendly to my mom and to our family. They do take a serious interest in the care of the residents. However, it does appear that they are short staffed, since there is quite a delay in response times to emails/calls.
My mom has been a resident for several months now and overall its a terrific facility - good staff, safe, good meals, activities...just working through bumps on the business side...billing issues, scheduling of services, transportation issues. Nothing major.

Brookdale Chanate was clean. Interactions between the staff and the people living there were great. The rooms were nice and the dining room was spectacular. The only thing I didn't like was the distance from some of the rooms to the main hub. It's because my mom has low mobility. Very knowledgeable, very caring staff member, she had a welcoming smile, and said hello to the people I saw walking by, so she knew them. It sounded like they had everything we needed, and would only charge us on what we needed. They had a game room, activity room, I didn't see a gym there.

With that being said they were having staffing problem while my mother was there she passed a short time later. We would recommend this community to other families depending on their loved ones needs and to make sure that they can accommodate their needs.

We toured Brookdale Chanate. It was very clean and it did not smell; those were my top priorities when I was looking. The rooms were a little bit older and a little bigger, which was nice. They have a game room, a TV room, and an exercise room. The staff that gave us the tour was very nice and knowledgeable. She was wonderful. However, some of the rooms are very far away from the dining hall and some of the main activities, so if they're not very ambulatory, it's a long walk, and that may not work for every person.
