We picked this community because it was the only place that would take my loved one. They have new management, so they are trying to get things in order. They are doing some remodeling and getting new furniture. They are going to make it more modern. My loved has Physical Therapy. I would like to get more feedback and communication regarding my loved ones' care. I probably would recommend to other families.

The employees really do try their best and do a good job - but the weekend staff is sometimes not as good as the weekday staff. I do think the finger foods could be improved some. By all means I would definitely recommend Glenwood to other families looking for memory care.

My mother was placed at Glenwood. before 2017. The plus things about this place were: the sprawling facility allows residents to walk as much as they want due to the lay out of the building, food was pretty good with water, lemonade, and milk served at every meal, her private large room, some excellent staff members, activities were good except mom could not do many of them She liked the physical activities like tossing the balloon, golfing etc. They had various great entertainment brought in and a lady who brought her dog each week to share with residents. Residents loved that..Birthdays were celebrated However, mom’s clothes were always missing, aid was supposed to take mom to the restroom and I always had to ask, ( a man ate half of her hearing aid ), and two more times her hearing aids were crushed. It was to the point that. I brought hearing aids home and took them back each day to prevent this from happening. Glasses were broken. She had someone’s lower false teeth in her mouth . I don’t know how they got there. She could not have put them in herself because of crippled fingers. I thought whose teeth were those. The upper teeth were in the office. The man that ate her hearing aid grabbed her hand while she was standing with her walker and bruised her arthritic painful hand.. I was standing there when it happened..There was a lot of staff turn over. I feel they admitted some violent people there who put others in danger. Doors were left unlocked so residents would go to others’ rooms uninvited. I spent a lot of time so I know what went on. I spoon fed mom because she was unable to feed herself with osteoarthritis in both hands. I felt if I weren’t there I didn’t know if she was being helped with eating. One day she was supposed to have a test for a bladder infection and the nurse didn’t follow through. There needed to be more supervision and there wasn’t. I witnessed a man urinating on top of a table in the dining room. No one was around. One day mom fell and slit the back of her head open. She said a man tripped her. I only found out when mom got up from the dining room table her head was bloody. I asked the director about it. She refused to tell me anything. I’m her daughter who visits every day but she would not tell me what happened. She said I wasn’t the power of attorney . I had to get permission from my brother in California. before she or any staff could discuss what happened. We then moved mom to another facility which proved to be far worse and she died under their horrible care. I now have no mother. I only have pictures to remember her. I had to tell my story. I think things are better now at Glenwood just from reading some other reviews and having a new. director .
