I toured Giving Tree Senior Living and met with Brooke who gave me the tour. She was a very nice person and the place was relatively new. They started during the pandemic so they were still coming up to speed on certain things. The building was newly-constructed so everything was new and everything looked nice. The thing that made a difference for me was they could not administer medications to the person's mouth. That was one of the things that made us rule them out, you couldn't just trust my father to take his pills if you just hand them to him. Unfortunately, that was one of the setbacks. I get the sense that they were well trained, they had a nice common area, and the rooms were quite nice. I guess with it being a little new, I wasn't quite sure about the experience their staff had. But they have a lot of very nice offerings for the people. I give them a lot of credit for starting out during the pandemic and getting it operational and getting it going. They seem dedicated, it just wasn't a good fit for my dad. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful. Their dining area looked well-laid out as well and nice. The way the facility was laid out, it didn't have quite the same outdoor space as the other place we toured, and it wasn't quite as open. But it certainly was adequate, or even better than adequate.

We have found Giving Tree Senior Living for my mother-in-law. The apartments are nice and big. The cost is reasonable. They're brand new. My mother-in-law toured it, too. The staff who toured me around was very informative. Things in the apartment that we needed were taken care of. They were very willing to work with us. They have a community kitchen and if she decides she wants to make something for herself, she can go down there and use it at any time. They have a game room, working fireplaces in all the community rooms, which is very nice because if she gets chilly, she can get out and sit in front of a fireplace in the library or wherever. She's coming up from Florida, so she's kind of chilly.

I liked the openness of the Giving Tree Senior Living. It's got windows, it's not dreary, and not confined. There's sunshine coming in. I toured the memory care area and they were very friendly and very clear on what they were offering, and in answering my questions. The place is very clean too. They have a fenced-in courtyard where they can go out and sit, and we just fell in love with it. I didn't see the purpose of going to other places when I knew this was going to work for my husband. The room he will be having is not furnished, which is great, because he's going to have his own bed, his chair, TV, and all of that. I love the idea that it's coming from our house, not from anybody else. It's a great place.

Giving Tree Senior Living is brand new. The rooms are beautiful, the common areas are beautiful. It's a brand new facility. The only issue I had with that place is I'd have to drive to Lowell to get there, which is a real pain in the butt, so it's the location. And being brand new, they didn't have you know, we couldn't compare. You didn't have all the activities set up and stuff like that. It was kind of an unknown. They had a nice little garden and it's a beautiful spot, a beautiful building. The staff we met were two people. It was a man and a woman, they're all very nice and they showed you everything they tried to answer all your questions and stuff. I have no complaints.
