Currently, Gable Pines residents have Priority Access to the covid-19 vaccination. The community is arranging on-site vaccination clinics to make receiving the treatment easy and accessible, scheduling future doses for each resident as necessary.
As Gable Pines strives to vaccinate their staff and residents, they are continuing to limit visits from guests and requiring and coming move-ins to prevent a negative covid-19 test before Transitioning. If a current resident test positive for covid-19, he or she must quarantine for 14 days.

Gable Pines at Vadnais Heights was a really beautiful place. I liked it a lot. It's laid out nicely and it's a very upscale type of place. It's a little pricier. One thing about that place that's better than a lot of other places was they told us that the price this year, 2023, is for life. The facility is well thought out. The rooms are gorgeous. The setting is quite nice. They have three or four courtyards and the main courtyard has these big rocks with water coming down them. The security is intense there. When I got out and I wanted to get back into the main building, I had to wait for somebody to let me in. That can be good and bad because, if you have an emergency and you need to get to the bathroom, that could be a negative, but they're doing this to protect the residents there, and I respect that. They've got these beautiful ceilings that have soffits. It's architecturally very pleasing to the eye. The rooms were clean and seemed bigger to me than some of the facilities, but you have to bring all your own stuff. The gal, Kendra, interviewed me and wanted to know all about my husband. They want to get to know who they're bringing into their facility. So, I spoke at great length about him and there was a lot of compassion there. I thought it was a very good interview. We did not eat there, but she sent my friend and me back with a little cheesecake. She also gave me a book and it was very good. This is something that I think all these places should do. The book was called "Creating Moments of Joy", and what it does is it tells caregivers how to handle their loved ones, and I've learned a lot from that.

I think, once we got the care plan fully implemented and had my mom lived longer, GP would have been a good fit. My father was/is in good physical and mental health. It was probably a bit tougher on him with covid protocols in place. He's a very outgoing person but given time I'm sure he would have made some meaningful connections with other residents who might have been in a similar situation as he. There were facilities we visited that were more posh than gable pines. What sealed the deal was the fact that you knew what your care plan cost each month. Many other facilities were A la carte.
