My Mother was a long time resident of Freedom Village/Lake Forest. Just before, during and after her passing, she was neglected, denied medical care and her wedding ring was stolen. The Orange County Social Services conducted a serious violation investigation, and found Freedom Village in violation of these serious complaints. OCSD has filed a theft report for the theft of her ring. The director of nursing removed my Mothers ring, then lied to the OCSD in regards to removing her ring. I have asked Freedom Village to respond to these violations against my Mother, they have failed to address these issues or at the least give me some answers. No one should ever be neglected and abused like she was during her last moments alive. Update and response to reply from Freedom Village 11/10/2023 In response to the reply to Freedom Village. I did speak about all these concerns at the time of my mom''s passing (why my mother was left without care after her fall all by herself with no care, why no one notified me of her fall, and why the director of nursing removed my moms wedding ring off of her person without any consent when my mother was laying there dying. Why would someone remove personal things from a person that is dying! When these issues were addressed with the Director of Nursing, she was combative and defensive. She also could not tell me why my mom lay in her bed without care. At the time, I was more worried about my mom and why she lay there suffering than her jewelry. A police report was filed, and the director of nursing lied in the report and made false statements (Public record). Still no call from Freedom Village. I also spoke with I believe to be the director of community relations when moving my moms stuff out of her apartment, and she did not seem to care either. No calls from higher ups. I decided to make a complaint to the department of Social Services of California. It took three years to complete this report. In the report, which is public, Freedom Village was found RESPONSIBLE for lack of care and neglect, not notifying me of her fall, and failure to keep belongs safe. After this report was complete, I did contact Freedom Village via email, mail, and phone call, with of course no response. It took me placing a negative review for them to "post a comment here" and telling ME to call. Even when they know who I am, and have my number. No one has ever contacted me to "address my concerns".

My mother was a resident of Freedom Village/ Lake Forest Ca. She passed away while residing in the assisted living facility of Freedom Village. Shortly after a fall she passed away. Before, during and after her passing I had noticed many issues.My Mother was denied medical services ( she was bedridden for days, unable to eat, sleep or use the restroom). The director of nursing at Freedom Village claimed she removed my Mothers wedding ring, however this ring was never found. Freedom Village failed to notify me after her fall. I contacted Orange County Social Services, who opened an investigation regarding my Mothers care. At the end of the investigation OCSS determined Freedom Village was held responsible for all of the above issues. A theft report was filed with Orange County Sheriffs Department. The report contained numerous lies and inaccurate information. There is no reason why a nursing director should ever remove something so valuable.

The lobby was clean and inviting. Has a cafe just to the right of the lobby entrance. The hallways to the rooms are clean and decorated nicely.
