My father had an amazing experience with his care at Palm Terrace. He has been in skill nursing in the past recovering from a hospital stay at a different location nearby. Needless to say his previous experience was not a positive one. He was not looking forward to returning to skill nursing. But, to his surprise he was so well cared for at Palm Terrace that if he were ever in need of such care again this is where he wants to be. The staff across the board was top notch. He felt safe, respected, well cared for and all his needs were met. I saw him daily and he had so many positive stories to share. Staff kept him updated on his progress and were so encouraging when he made progress and met a milestone. As a family member I felt at ease going home and knowing he was in good hands. His favorite was going to the activity room and engaging with staff and other patients. Thank you to all the staff for the amazing job you provide and for your patience and helpfulness.

I was recommended to bring my father to this facility by a very dear friend who is in the Healthcare industry. We arrived after a month of hospitalization/skilled nursing at a horrendous facility which I will not mention, back to another hospital at which time things looked really bleak. He recovered and our fear was that he would not be cared for well enough and would end up back at the Hospital. The complete opposite happened. The staff (administration and social services, nurses, LVNs and doctors) were incredible. I could not have wished for a better doctor than Dr. Lew. The nurses were truly caring and did everything in their power to make him comfortable and ensure that he received his time sensitive medications on time. My family and I want to thank you from the bottom of our heart. You guys are incredible. And thank you my dear friend for your amazing recommendation:)

Often arrived to visit to be told by my family member that they had hit the call button multiple times and been ignored for an hour or more, left to sit in a soiled diaper or deprived of the pain meds that were on order. Her roommate reported similar issues, including missed doses of a time sensitive medication. When I tried to reach out to staff about these issues, I was generally brushed off. At one point, I was given a number to call, which went to voicemail (never got a response). When my relative was brought to the ER, the physician felt the issue that sent them there was caused by insufficient nursing care and failure to follow protocol and aftercare instructions. After that my relative did not feel safe or comfortable returning to Palm Terrace.

If you want your loved one to die, bring them here. They completely mismanaged a family member and we had to get her out of there before she died. 24 hours later under competent care she is making a full recovery. I don’t even have the space to describe all the things that went wrong, but please know I don’t write this lightly and I’m not an internet hater. Just trying to warn others.

I toured Ivy Park of Wellington - Laguna Woods. The fellow that took us around knew everybody's name, and I just thought that was so personable. You could tell he had a relationship with the people who lived there. I just thought the place was so neat because when we arrived at the front desk, there was a sign welcoming us, and I just thought that was such a nice touch. Everybody was so friendly and very welcoming. I loved that they had redecorated the place and redone it recently. It felt like you're in a new location. I loved the way everything was spotless and very organized. The rooms were small and that just took me back, but they had so many different rooms to do different things like crafts, or if you had a meeting or a Bible study, or if you wanted to get together in a large group. There were so many different rooms that you could use. I liked that they had occupational therapists and physical therapists and someone who can take you places. Like if you want to go to church, they'll take you, or if you want to go to the doctor's office, they'll take you. They're always coming up with ideas of something fun to do as a group. And so if you are bored, it's your own fault because they have some neat things where they take their clients to. They encourage families and the kids to come and visit. I love the way they have their courtyard because you can be in the courtyard and be safe. You can't enter it from the outside area, you have to be in the building, so I love the safety of that. There were so many things to do, and I loved the fact that they didn't squish or squash, so there wasn't room for a place to do your hobbies. The rooms were just too small for us for the price.
