My dad is here I have chosen them because the proximity to my house is the first big benefit, appearance is important, and the friendliness of the staff. He has only been there for a few weeks now. The staff are very good. I have been with him on multiple occasions when he is at the dinner table and so I have an idea about what he has been served. There is a courtyard there. I picked a studio, and he has ample room, a small fridge, a microwave, a sink, and lots of cupboard space. The other thing that I like is the size of the facility. It's not overly big, and I think that's important to my dad. If you take a 92-year-old out of the house after he has been in the hospital for five weeks, it's kind of a lot to take in. It's smaller and it doesn't seem institutional, so I think that has helped with his transition as well. Also, it is in the middle of a residential area.

We went to look here. The staff was very good at touring us around. He tried to accommodate us as much as he could. But they didn't offer the care that my mom needed. It was a very nice facility, very home-like. The people there seemed very happy and content. I've heard the food is really good there. The rooms were nice and clean. They were more like studios. They take them shopping and to their doctor's appointments. They have activities. They had a beauty salon, which was very nice. They do it once a week, or a relative comes in and shampoos your hair when they're not there. They had a nice little library with a computer, a social room, an activity room, and a nice dining area. It was very clean.

He just loves it. It's just the right size for him. It's not too big, and it's not too small. They get three meals a day. They come in and check on him once a day. If they don't come out of their room for a while, they get them out of their room so they can mingle with people. They check in on him all the time, and they help him with anything he needs in his apartment. The price is definitely right. He loves the food. He said the meals are good. The chef's good; we got to meet him. They get snacks a couple of times a day, too. They put the snacks out, and they come down and get them. They do bingo, and they just kind of get them involved. It's a little bit harder for him because he's partially blind. They have music night, movie night, and different activities that he loves to do. There's something new every day and different. There are three of them in there that he can shoot the ball with, and he likes that.
