My mom is at Charter Senior Living of Northpark Place. She was on the independent side for a year and a half, and then we moved her over to the assisted living side. The CNAs are great and give great care. If my mom needs anything, they're there for her. My mom can't walk and she's in a wheelchair. They come and take her to dinner, to activities, and her doctor's appointments. They have a van that goes three times a week to your doctor's appointments or wherever you want to go. It's not very big, but my mom's got a sleeping area, a living area, and a bathroom that is wheelchair accessible. They're the only ones in the city that have respite care, which is equal to nursing home care, more or less. That way, I can keep my mom out of the nursing home. They have games and activities every week. They have people come in and sing in the community room. They sing a lot of the older songs that everyone can relate to. It's just a very nice community. I'm happy we found it. They play bingo and watch movies too. The meals are good, but they could be a little bit better sometimes.
Read moreI have found Charter Senior Living to be a pretty nice place that isn't too expensive. It's a nice community where the people are all pretty friendly and happy. And the staff are caring.
The staff are very friendly. The care is better now than it was at first. We had to address a couple of things with them, but those things seem to have been resolved after talking with them. The facility is clean. And most of the residents that I've seen seem happy.
They do not communicate well. As of now, we haven't signed a lease agreement because they keep sending us a blank one. So my loved ones don't know the community expectations, etc. It's been well over six months since they moved in. The residents are friendly, and so is the maintenance guy. But ...

So my loved ones don't know the community expectations, etc. It's been well over six months since they moved in. The residents are friendly, and so is the maintenance guy. But the office staff has not been very helpful. At first the food was being delivered to the rooms due to Covid. It was always cold, and there's not a lot of variety. The dining room has since opened.. My loved ones were supposed to get Continental breakfast their first week there and never got it. On top of that, the staff argued it wasn't supposed to be included. I would not recommend this community.

My parents-in-law are living in Charter Senior Living at North Park Place in Sioux City, Iowa. It is a very nice place, very clean, and the staff is very friendly. The only issue we've ever had so far is that they changed hands from who owns them and the cost for the month-to-month rent went up already. They've only been there for a short amount of time, but they really enjoy living there, the freedom to come and go as they need to, the van that takes them when they want to go places, and the meals provided. They are enjoying their time. They got an apartment. They have independent on one side of the building and assisted living on the other side. I know they have a gym, and they also have different kinds of activities like church activity and bingo. Because of Covid, the number of things they are providing is limited. They can't interact with other people who live there and get to know anybody. Hopefully, once this is all over, they will get more involved with people. I know my in-laws like most of the meals. There are some that they don't like, so they buy their own groceries, but for the most part, they like it.
