My mother-in-law has moved into Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park. It has been a good experience. Friendly staff. Everything is good over there. The community is friendly and clean. The people inside seem to enjoy themselves. I haven't seen anybody not with a smile. It's nice that they can have a snack counter that they can go to throughout the day. They have a couple of common areas. The only thing I would suggest is that, in the first common area where you first come in, there should be some sofas or something. Because people come in and want to sit next to their mom and their dad, but they can't. That's the biggest room in the whole senior facility, and it's all separate seating. It should be more like a living room type of atmosphere. My mother-in-law is a Catholic, and she would like to go to her services, but I don't think there's a lot of opportunity for religion over there. Outside is nice because you don't have all that heavy traffic and no factories around. It's quiet and peaceful, and when you go in, it's clean, and it's got a happy environment. However, they have a lot of turnover in staff. I think they're limited on the helpers over there. As for the activities, other than family members hanging with their parents and doing things, I don't see any staff members out there putting anything together. The money is brutal, too, so I can't give it that high value because anywhere you go, it's just outrageous. But it's pretty nice compared to everything else that's going on with the prices.

I find the staff to be very responsive and helpful. They try to keep the Legacy residents active and engaged, but also respect if the resident just wants to nap in their apartment. I do think that sometimes the caregivers could take a little more time to make the bed neatly, maybe come in an engage my Mom in conversation instead of just asking if they are ok.

I cannot say enough about good about this facility. It is clean, friendly, very welcoming etc. From the girl at reception desk to the people who deliver the food, everyone says hello and greets you. The staff are very attentive. Sometimes the accounting department is lacking with their invoices. I have been trying to get our March bill rectified or about 2 weeks. I do not blame that on the local resort, that is more corporate level. They haven't got a recycling program. They go through an inordinate amount of plastic that go right in the trash. I'm having my mom put water bottles and other plastic items in a bag, and I bring them home to put in our recycling bin. Overall I would absolutely recommend Evergreen Senior Living to others looking and already have.

We put my mom in Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park for two weeks. They gave her her medicine, they took her down to her food, and they laid out her clothes for her. They had activities there. They had a Hawaiian evening. The first two weeks, we kind of spent a lot of time with her. We were keeping my mom more active than them. It's our first time putting her in an assisted living place. Everyone was kind of worried, so we wanted to make sure she was good, so we kind of spent a lot of time with her and took turns going and coming. The staff were very understanding, very caring, and very nice. There's nothing negative I can say about them. It's all positive. Of all the facilities I visited, they have the best room. It's a 700-square-foot room. It has a walk-in closet, a big bathroom, a big shower and bathtub, a little kitchen area, and a little dining area. It's the most spacious room in any facility, I think. It's new, so that was kind of encouraging for us. I was able to put a queen-sized bed in there for my mom, and it fit perfectly. Their food was super. They'll take her down to eat, or they'll bring her food to eat. And if she didn't like it, they'll bring her something different. They were like really, really nice and easygoing. There are always snacks out, there's always coffee out, there's always cookies, soft drinks, and water. They always have those available for them.
