The physical therapist, occupational therapist, were great. The nurses, and aides were very short staffed while I was there. I had to wait a hour several times to either get help getting to the bathroom or getting out of the bathroom. If I didn’t get into bed at 7:00pm when the aide or aides come around then I had to wait until the shift changed and then I would have help getting into bed. Several times if I needed changed I had to wait one or two hours to get changed. I was there from October of 2021 until the end of January of 2022. My insurance would not pay for me to be there past December 31st, but the physical therapist and myself didn’t think it was safe for me to go home. I had thought that the social worker and business manager were appealing to the insurance company on my behalf but they did not. I had to do my appeal myself. The doctor also retired December 31st and I never seen a doctor the remaining three weeks I was there. I lost my appeal as I was on my own without any help from Edison Manor, and racked up a huge bill for the three weeks that the insurance company would not cover. Home health would not admit me and advised me to go to the emergency room at the hospital so that the social worker there would place me. After two days in the hospital, the social worker there gave me the choice of going back home or long term care back into Edison Manor. Edison Manor was not any help for getting me approved by the insurance company, even though the physical therapist didn’t think it was safe for me to go home, because if I fell at home, it could be possible that I would never recover from my surgery. The first day home I did fall, and that fall plus when the home health nurse saw what I was only able to do, that is why she would not admit me to home health care. So the three weeks I stayed at Edison Manor in January accumulated a large bill that will take me a long time to pay. I’m still recovering…at home.
Read moreI have found this place to be one of the filthiest places ever. It is beyond me how they stay open. However, the therapy department is excellent. They end up doing the work of the regular staff, besides their work.
Spare your family, save their lives, and prevent constant pain by simply never sending your family member here. That''s all I have to say.
I would not recommend putting your loved one here. They are very understaffed and bells can ring for hours. I personally witnessed a supervisor scream and yell at an employee after the employee asked for help while on a nursing unit. I hope they treat the residents better than they treat the staff!

I Only Give a 1 Star rating, Because They Don''t Have A ZERO Star Rating. Recently had to sign my husband out, A M A, because from the first day there he didn''t have any proper care, and the staff yelled at him, and me. He fell out of bed, several times a day, sometimes I was notified, but mostly not. There wasn''t any bed rail up, and there was an alarm that either didn''t work or wasn''t turned on, because it never went off. I tried for the 2 weeks he was there to find another place for him. Unfortunately, that didn''t happen, so I had to bring him home, I couldn''t leave him there anymore. Now, 4 days later, he''s back in the hospital, with an infection, and some of the same health problems that were controlled before he went there. I have some pictures of how dirty it is. Do yourself, or loved one a favor GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
