Ok this will take sometime write…. I was CNA Edgewater for three years. I always worked hard and love my patients. as my own family six months of being a CNA there. I got a two dollar raise because they thought I was a good CNA. I got really attached to one my patients, she was like my family. I went above and beyond for her and loved her family, and they love me. She had a freak accident there she was getting ready for bed and sink came out of the wall and fell on her. It broke her leg in her femur. Because she had to be bedbound after that, she ended up filling up the fluid and passing away. Before the accident she was mobile and able to get around on her own her family which her daughter is paralegal, got an attorney and sued the facility and won because I am so close to the family in the patient , they thought I had something to do with the suit. I had to have a surgery and had to be an FMLA for two months. I came back. They gave my position up and harassed me. I had worked there for three years and never had been wrote out. They were trying to silently fire me they had to end up replacing every sink in the facility because they were too cheap to do it before hand, the patient that passed away had complained about leakage in the sink for months and was ignored. They fired me two weeks before Christmas took my Christmas bonus after me being out of work for two months on FMLA, but I have God in my life and he always make sure I’m taken care of . I got a job same day I went to interview I knew they were gonna fire me. They were just looking for something small anything they can find to try to fire me instead of being appreciative that they had a CNA that love their patients that much they have CNA’s there the cuss the patients that leave patient sitting in the chairs for 12 hours without being changed. Don’t let the looks deceive you. I have reached out to the CEO several times only one answer and he told me he would get back with me and never has looks are deceiving. Don’t take your love one here. they say they’re special, but I know a whole lot more than I’ve wrote. Not doing this to be envious because vengeance is Gods. But the truth is the truth.

After conducting our own research, and speaking to several people, my sister and I chose Edgewater Health and Rehab at Waterman for our mothers nursing home care. Our case manager Ingrid is absolutely amazing. She is on top of everything all the time and keeps us updated on a regular basis. My moms nurses Robin and Joyce and the other members of the nursing staff treat my mom with respect and dignity. The facility is always clean and offers many activities for the seniors to enjoy. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication and taking great care of our mom! She is very happy there.

The people at Edgewater are great! My mother was admitted awhile ago after an hospilization. She was unable to walk on her own and dementia had set in. She wouldn''t eat and stayed in her room. But after a few months at Edgewater, she is doing great. She eats all her meals and socializes with the other residents. She wins quarters at bingo. I couldn''t be happier with the way my mother is treated. Ingrid, my mother''s case worker, and all the nurses do a great job and truly care for the residents.

While in the hospital, I began looking for the best rehabilitation I could find for a loved one. A Surgeon in the Hospital Intensive Care Unit told me to get to The Edgewater. I have now visited The Edgewater for at least six hours every day, for the last 134 days. While there is nothing like having your health and being at home, under the circumstances, I am confident that we have made the right choice. Having spent so much time there, one learns about it. The Edgewater I found cares for 120 people in Rehabilitation and Long Term Care units. They have extraordinary personnel. The staff includes Nurses, CNA’s, a RN Certified Wound Specialist, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, a Dietitian, full time maintenance, a team of cleaning staff that works seven days a week and an Activities Director. A common area hosts entertainment, bingo, group activities that you may partake if you choose. A Worship Service on Sunday is offered. We see at least one Doctor in our room and often two along with a Physician’s Assistant every week. They provide transportation to our offsite doctor appointments. I find their administrative and management staff to be openly available and have been very helpful. U.S. News and World Reports gave The Edgewater a 5/5 overall rating under Best Nursing Homes.
