We are leaning towards Ecumen Centennial House. We liked that it was a small community, so you never had to move from one place to the next. The people were just really nice. We saw their activities, exercises, a nice porch, a patio, and a walking path.

It was just a nice environment. His room is very nice. They have activities Monday through Saturday. They have crafts, exercises, and Bible studies. There's always something going on. I haven't tried the food, but I've been there for a couple of meals, and it looked really good. The staff there is nice.

We didn't like Ecumen Centennial House. I saw people who had super high needs. They have like a pod of four rooms. If my dad was sick, I think he would have been great there, but he didn't need that high of nursing care. The staff was good. They're all amazing. The room was just one room and you could only fit a bed in there and maybe a little couch. It was very small. It was not the kind of room that my dad would need. I went through that one fairly quickly and that's why I ended up in the other one. It was well maintained. The dining room was nice. For what it was, they were great.

The people at Ecumen Centennial House's memory care are very caring and very knowledgeable about Alzheimer's and dementia. Their rooms are a nice size and very clean with nice large bathrooms. Their dining area is very nice, large, and very clean. It's also bright and sunny because it's got a lot of windows. The upkeep of the place is very good and it's very well-manicured. They've got a lounge area with a fireplace and big-screen TVs where everybody can gather if they want. They have activities of exercise groups, and people in other areas playing games of different sorts. They've asked my father-in-law what his interests are so they could specifically design things around what he likes. It's nice to have him in a place where they understand what problems he's facing so it's worth the money just for that.

My mother has been in memory care facility since spring. Since then my mom has had clothing and personal items removed from her room. Every week i go in i have to go through her clothes and remove a basket full of items that are not hers. She is constantly missing clothing and pads. I have complained numerous times and was told they would get it worked out. Nothing gets worked out. Her dentures mysteriously broke into pieces. I am sure you are aware they do t just break..so who knows. She sits in a soiled diaper all day. I Dont think they read her haelth care plan at all. There is zero activities so do not buy into that. They have a puzzle and play music on a radio. Or they plop you in front of a TV. So very disappointed in how things are ran at this facility. I would remove her if we could afford it. Take my advice this is not a place for your loved one. I wish someone else had warned me so i am hoping to help another nightmare from happening. Food has some improvements needed. I know a few days ive been there for lunch its been a hotdog on a hard bun. Let me say this has been her lunch each time i have been there at lunch time.

I went to the Ecumen Centennial House last Thursday. I saw their memory care and the tour was really good. It's a smaller facility and the people seemed nice. I think it'll be a good fit for my mom. It was really nice and seemed very comfortable. The people seemed very caring, I was given a lot of good information, and they were very helpful on the next steps I need to take. I need to apply for VA benefits and all that kind of stuff and the lady I spoke with was very nice. The location is very convenient too. It's only about 10 minutes away from my house.
