Dulaney Valley Assisted Living at Baldwin was a nice place. It just was not suitable for my mom's situation. The rooms were small. The place was very clean, very orderly, and very neat, but it was small. The staff during the tour was very good, very attentive to my mom's needs, listened very well, and had very good information. The dining area looked very clean, neat, and orderly. The residents I saw were sitting around and watching television. I saw some senior citizens playing board games.

We toured Dulaney Valley Assisted Living at Baldwin. They were very good. They had the stairs, and they had the lift chairs. My father likes to wander on his own, so that's why we were looking for a place that had a room on the one level where he didn't have to do the stairs. The room was very nice. It was not a huge room, but a very efficient room, like a bed, a nightstand, a dresser, and a window to look out front. It was very nice. It was one of those ones where I visited at lunchtime, and it just smelled amazing. They were a good facility. It was really nice, but they had the stairs. The staff member was very knowledgeable. She explained everything. Whatever they were cooking for lunch, it was good. The people that were there were enjoying it. The other thing was that they weren't open yet to visit. If you went to visit, you would have to visit them through the door. You could have a door visit, but you couldn't go inside and visit them. I'm sure it will change in the future, and it's also winter. But the door that we went it, it was a very nice patio, and it kind of had like a farm setting behind it, so that was nice too.

I would like to say that Dulaney Valley asst living was ok. The place was clean and my Aunt enjoyed the food. Pre Covid she was able to come and go as she pleased. During Covid they were on lock down which kept them safe and none of the residence got sick. However, I know it was boring for them because they are zero activities, reading and watching TV is it. The ladies there are kept clean and their laundry is done for them. They do not have enough aides to help with all the residents. My Aunt and another resident fell out of their beds and were bruised As far as the cost I think they are pricey. One month deposit is required and my Aunt passed away on the 6th of the month and was not reimbursed for the remaining month. So please read the contract
Read moreThe visiting times can be limited even before covid. I also would like to see more activities to engage the residence. The communication with the families needs to improve and be more proactive. The staff is very loving and kind and are doing the best they can.

I went to Dulaney Valley Assisted Living at Baldwin. They were getting ready to have a birthday party for one of the residents, so it was a quick visit. They only had ten or 12 residents; it wasn't very large. It formerly was a farmhouse and they had to convert some rooms to accommodate, so it wasn't very big. There was a lot of farmland around it. I thought they might have built something for the residents to go outside and sit on the porch or something, but they didn't have anything like that. The two owners assisted that day, and they were very accommodating because I had set an appointment to be there and they were not informed, but they let me visit anyway.
