We visited Drake Terrace and we liked everything about it. It's very well-run, everybody was very friendly and welcoming, and very cheerful. It had a lot of light and a lot of fun activities. The rooms are very bright and cheerful, and the food is good. They have a workout room and an activity room where they do movies and holiday things. The grounds are very well-kept. The atmosphere is very warm and family-like, and everybody's very nice to each other. What we saw was their independent living. They have other things too but we did not visit their assisted and memory care because what we wanted was just independent living.

The care was inadequate for someone with severe dementia. The problem is they don't have a doctor on site, just one nurse who I believe isn't even an RN. This was just not a good fit for my loved one. It might be a good fit for others with less care needs. Basically all they know how to do when someone starts having a dementia-related outburst is call 911. They're not set up to deal with that. But they didn't really say that upfront. Had I known this, it would have saved everybody a lot of trouble. Intake was a problem too.

We chose Drake Terrace because we took my mom her and she liked it, it was in a close and familiar area, and it is a medium size, not too big not too small. The facility also looks very nice and the staff members were very easy to work with. The room sizes here seem plenty big for what she needs. We have not experienced much yet but their social activities are starting to open back up, so we are excited about that. I would recommend to others looking.

On [date removed], I became a resident of Drake Terrace. From the first day, I felt at home. My apartment is lovely and comfortable. The staff is wonderful.....kind, patient and helpful. Even under the restrictions of Covid-19, they manage to provide activities while maintaining safety. Now that the dining room is open for dinner, I have met many friendly residents. I look forward to many happy, fulfilling years at Drake Terrace.
