We have moved into Holiday Curtis Creek. It's a complete retirement package. We have meals every day and cleaning once a week. Laundry is available, too. A lot of those chores are taken care of for us. Our apartment is small but that's what we expected. The staff is very nice. Like everywhere else, they have trouble having enough staff but they're very nice. There are activities every day. I don't go to them, but there are activities. They have outings but mostly I spend my time reading and writing. The food in general is good.

I like the fact that Holiday Curtis Creek offers three meals a day, activities, transportation, and church services. They also offer caregivers (you have to pay extra for that) if you need them. My mother-in-law loves her room. She has a large studio apartment. They offer housekeeping and laundry. They have a library and an activity room. They offer snacks and drinks (that's available all the time). We actually went there for Easter dinner and the food was delicious. They have a chef and it was like five-star dining.

My mom has been in Holiday Curtis Creek for two weeks now. She loves it there. She's met a lot of people that she has things in common. The one little problem is they've had a COVID outbreak and so they've been on lockdown since last Thursday, so that part is not so great. My mom's room is really beautiful. She just loves it. She's got a balcony that she likes to sit on, and she likes her room very much. I think she likes the food. Of course, now they have to eat in their room, so this isn't the best time. But she got to eat there last week, and it is great, complete with piano playing. They have a guy playing piano during the meal, it's really beautiful. As far as I know, my mom has no problems with the staff. Everything seems to be in good working order. I would recommend it. It has beautiful views, and it's just all trees where she lives, so it's really pretty.

My dad moved into Curtis Creek. This is the only senior living center here in Quincy that is a strictly independent living facility, so they're able to give a much more affordable rate. They don't have nurses. The staff members are very friendly and helpful as much as they can be. There are some issues in their kitchen, but sometimes they come out with some great stuff. They have quite a bit of activity. They try to encourage their residents to move around as much as possible. I've seen them play bingo. They have a little craft area, so somebody comes in and directs them with some crafting. There's a game room with a shuffleboard and pool table.

The tour at Curtis Creek was wonderful. Cara was very helpful. She showed us three different places, and she showed us the highlights like the exercise room and the chapel. She was very informative and very helpful, and she answered questions and stuff. The staff was very good. She invited us to have lunch with her. My sister and I went back and had lunch with her, and the service was great, and the people were great. We even got out to meet the chef. The rooms were very nice. People had just moved out not too long ago, so they just need to be fixed. The food was great. We have a lot of choices. They wait on you and all the staff communicate very well with the patients. It was very, very friendly. They just had a Mardi Gras party like the week before, and the staff told us they got a carnival coming up in March. She showed us pictures of a Valentine's party they've had. The residents were still ranting and raving about that, how good a time they had. It was a very good tour.
