This facility accepted both my parents when my dad needed assistance and they could no longer live in their home of 60 years. The staff quickly developed a fondness and gave them special attention and care. I can't emphasize how important this was in their transition from home. When my dad's condition progressed WELL past the point he should have gone to a nursing home for skilled care, they kept him to keep the two of them together and just stepped up the care they provided. When my dad passed, they were bedside shedding tears as well. You can find somewhere more expensive, but not one with a more caring staff.

I recently visited Clemmons Village II - Assisted Living. I was impressed, it's a very, very nice facility. Their rooms were large and the residents there have the opportunity to personalize their areas, which was impressive. They were clean. The staff members were friendly, very knowledgeable, and very welcoming. They have a large room that looked like it was set up for several different types of activities. They had reading materials available, several TVs, and several different options in a large room. They have someone there that's like a beautician.

We saw a lot more people at Clemmons Village II. It's a smaller and older facility, but the rooms were nice and pretty simple. These were just basic rooms but comfortable. They had different housing options that made it more affordable for people and they are one of the more reasonable ones. So, they had a little bit more flexibility. You could have a roommate and have a shared bathroom to make it less expensive. It's in the countryside so it's kind of a more laid-back place. I think that's why my grandmother liked it there because she's a country girl. They had beautiful landscaping. Upkeep and maintenance were fine. Everything smelled good and looked good. The food also looked good and they serve three meals a day if people want that, as well as snacks. They list all those so that people would know what's coming up. They had a nice dining area and some safety precautions are observed. They have simpler activities. They would have board games and crafts, and every day they have something special for the people like flower arranging and things like that. There were some multipurpose rooms that they used for crafts. They have individual and group recreation, transportation to scheduled outings like local restaurants, a beauty salon, and a barbershop. They are pet friendly. When my grandmother was there, everybody had a little bird in a cage in their room or they had cats. They had a chapel and they did daily morning devotion if people wanted to come and worship. It's a simpler kind of place, but I think it met the needs of the residents. They're lovely and caring people.

I've lived here at Clemmons Village II for 10 years now, so overall it's been wonderful. It's a very good place. It's all on one floor, it's very, very open, sunlit, and beautifully decorated. In 10 years, the staff has been great. If there ever was one that wasn't so, they didn't last long because it's a very positive environment. It's very clean, has no smells, is very nice, and very well kept. We got a bus and we take trips and we do group activities together like bingo, movies and arts and crafts. It's been very, very affordable and a good value.
