Katzman (Chelsea Jewish) seems good on the outside, especially compared to some other facilities, but the care itself leaves a lot to be desired. My mother was placed here for rehabilitation but the staff gave up on her pretty quickly, seemingly intent to let her lay in bed in a soiled diaper all day instead of encouraging physical therapy so she could go home. The head of physical therapy was adamant in giving up on her, doctors orders went unheeded by staff, and staff made excuse after excuse to deny providing a shower. No one should have to sit in soiled diapers to the point they develop rashes and blisters. No one should be allowed to develop urinary tract infections because they are left dirty. No should should be given up on. If you''re looking for rehabilitation, stay away from Katzman Family Living.
