My dad was a resident at atria for about eight months. Due to a medical condition, he had to move to another facility but he and our family wanted to express our thanks for all the support given to dad and to us during his time at atria. The staff at atria are excellent. The aides became a second family for our dad. They treated him with respect and friendship as he dealt with the challenges of his transition to an assisted living community. Sherry was especially good to dad, but he liked the whole team and still speaks fondly of them today. The nurses, lisa, lori and oleen, helped dad and the whole family deal with the changes to dad’s medical condition and were caring and supportive as they guided us through some important decisions. One of dad’s favorite team members was adam, who checked on dad often and talked with him about sports and his beloved grandchildren. In summary we wanted to thank the staff at atria for making dad’s atria experience a very good one. – john d., former residentgreat care, great food. . . The three plus years spent at maplewood have enriched our lives on so many different levels. Kudos to employees jen driscoll, josie bisek and all the staff who somehow managed to include every resident no matter what the skill level. To jimmy zammuto whose culinary skills are outstanding and whose staff bring joy to the table each day. Also kudos to frank and roy who are doing a terrific job righting the ship after a loss of a number of key employees. Lauren at the front desk is a delight, and of course larry is the most versatile employee i have witnessed to date. The nursing staff are top notch and caring. . . . I think you get the picture. We will be forever grateful for the time my mom spent at this community. Thank you! – debbie sheppard, family memberbest atria employee larry tatum! He is our atria bus driver and a jack of all trades. When not transporting residents to doctors offices or hospitals, he secures his bus in our lot, and is now watering the great colorful flowers in some fifteen flower pots. Next he may help a new resident move in. Following that is a trip to a shopping center and food market, making sure all aboard have their emergency button and cord around their necks. He has already checked in 10 residents at the food market and the rest at the clothing store. An hour later, he counts heads again as he reloads the bus. Next stop: an ice cream counter and cones for all. A safe ride back to atria and everyone is taken safely to their apartments. They had an enjoyable day and now a good night sleep. Larry parks the bus in its spot and wipes the windshield and all the windows. He is ready for another great day tomorrow! – p.f., residentkudos to mercedes mercedes excels in attitude, service and humor. . . . Mercedes excels in attitude, service and humor.

After meeting with Patty in the beginning of the year, my siblings and I decided we should move our mom from CT to MA to be closer to me and because of the benefits for the aging in MA. Patty gave me a tour of the facilities and showed me a few different room layouts. Patty has been incredibly helpful with the move, trying to make this as easy as possible on all of us. She''s answered my questions on days off, in the evening, or even early in the morning. I definitely feel like any concerns I have will be addressed in a timely fashion. On move-in day, Patty introduced me to some residents and told them my mom would be moving in later that day. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. She even had the kitchen staff make my 2 year-old son a PB&J when we decided to join for dinner that night. She currently doesn''t require any assistance, but we met with Rose (the head of nursing) and she is incredibly caring and kind. She listened to our concerns, did an in-depth assessment of our mother, and made recommendations for her that we all felt comfortable with. She also told us if anything changes that she will make the necessary changes to her plan immediately. Rose has an excellent bedside manner and has made herself available to us in a way that makes us feel like we''re her only clients. The rest of the staff has been very friendly and welcoming. Roz, at the front desk, has been so helpful every time I''ve gone to see my mom. She helped us when our key wasn''t working for the apartment. She played with my son when we first came in for a visit. And she comes up with activities for the residents. The chef came out and chatted with us at our first dinner there. The head of maintenance also came by to day hi. We''re very happy with the treatment my mom has received since she moved in. And we''re happy we chose Atria Maplewood for her to live. Everyone has been lovely and we can''t wait for her to make friends some of the residents.

Maplewood Place was fully renovated about 2 years ago. The apartments, common areas and dining room are beautiful and very inviting. My 87-year-old mother was very apprehensive about assisted living but no longer had the ability to live independently. Maplewood Place became “home” in about a week thanks to the staff and residents. The “community” (both the people and infrastructure) made the transition here easy and her transformation with joy, peace and happiness nearly seamless. From the aides to housekeeping to the dining room staff, activities director, front desk, wellness care to management - ALL have been professional, kind, caring and welcoming every hour of every day. The TEAM is focused on making every resident feel at home with happiness and joy. Every aspect of this community is covered to the smallest detail - cleanliness, food, activities, apartments and level of assistance required. The infrastructure is beautiful and inviting from the lobby to dining room to common areas.

Maplewood Place was a lifesaver for my family. My 96 year old mother needed a place to recuperate after being discharged from rehab for a broken arm. I was beside myself as my mom has always lived independently and staying with me, or my staying with her were not options. I did my due diligence, and , with help from A Place for Mom, discovered Maplewood Place and respite care. From the time I set a foot in the door, the staff was welcoming and professional. They were more than willing to deal with any special need my mom had. The facility is spotless, and the food is fresh, nutritious, and delicious. There are a variety of activities available. My mom spent about 2 and a half months at Maplewood Place. During that time, I was able to coordinate an easy return to her home. The peace of mind that the staff of Maplewood Place provided, was immeasurable. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

We visited Holiday Maplewood Place and the facilities were definitely topnotch. The people were absolutely fantastic when we were going through the process. We saw the room, the dining, the recreation sort of areas that they would have, and spoke to the director. It was just a really beautiful facility and the people were very nice and accommodating. The place was absolutely spotless, and for someone that was in my mother's situation, the layout of the rooms would have given her a feeling of independence inside her dwelling, so she wouldn't feel obligated to constantly call and ask for assistance. It was a studio place that had a bathroom in it and a living space. It was big enough for her to live, but also small enough so she didn't have to travel long distances to get to any primary need. We only met the director and he was very, very accommodating. He showed us whatever we wanted to see, and we actually were able to give him some insight on the building since it was the place that I went to junior high. So, I actually described what the building looked like before it became an assisted living place. We had a great conversation that way too, and he continues to try to find financial avenues for us if it's something we desperately needed.

I toured Holiday Maplewood Place. I liked the proximity to a lot of places like fitness clubs, restaurants, and stores. I can walk to pretty much everything I need to. It's very nice and very old style. It used to be a high school, so I can see how it used to be a bunch of classrooms there. It has a nice, unique, rather than a modern character to it. It's got an old, pleasant character to it. The guy during the tour was very courteous. He said that they were having a brief COVID outbreak there, so everybody was in masks, and so a lot of the residents were not out there in the open. I didn't get to meet any residents there, but it was only because they had the COVID situation. He took me to all the places that I wanted to see and all the different room types. He answered all my questions about what I needed to do if I was to become ill later and not be able to act on my own because I didn't have any relatives left. It's very clean and well-kept. The landscaping was very nice. The parking lot was very accessible. They talked about how if you wanted to go to the doctor, on certain days they could take you there. They have transportation. They work it out with everybody else. He said that there are three meals a day and that all the utilities are paid for.

The way in which the operations specialist speaks to and about workers and previous workers is completely and utterly despicable. If you want a positive environment for your loved ones, he needs to be out of office, if you don’t enjoy your job or the people you surround yourself with at your job then don’t do the job. The mannerisms are better in a kindergarten classroom. As a family member of somebody who spent years in the building, I have never seen such disrespect until I came across this man.
