They have a game room, a theater on site, and a shuttle service that will bring anybody, anywhere they want to go. Tim and Billy are the two employees that I've met, and they're phenomenal. It's a good value for the money.

I went to tour Cedarhurst of Pekin. It was very pretty there. It was a very nice, warm feeling, and very clean. I like that it's assisted living because when I went there, there were people there that were my age, and I didn't see anybody that was sick. The staff who toured me around was very friendly. They offered me lunch, and it was very good. I was so surprised by how good it was. They had a gym, they had a salon, there's a courtyard, and then the dining area. They had white tablecloths on the tables. It was very clean.

My parent lived in this facility for 4 years. In general, the facility is clean and well-maintained. Staff are helpful and friendly. My parent did complain about a decline in the quality of the food when the company changed from Grand Victorian to Morningside. There are plenty of activities for residents to engage in, if desired. My reduction in rating is due to the end point of our experience. My parent began a sudden decline and the administration demanded immediate presence of myself (I lived 200 miles away) or a home health aide on a Friday at 3pm. When I asked for help and/or recommendations in locating someone, I was told to check the yellow pages. Most offices were closing or had no one to place at such short notice. I ended up having to move my parent the next day. As my parent was dying over the next few weeks, I was simultaneously trying to clear her apartment. The administration asked more than once when the apartment would be vacated (it was paid through the end of the month), because they had someone who wanted to move in right away. It felt like my family was now unimportant, except as revenue for the facility and that they couldn't get us out of there fast enough. My parent's death went unremarked with the exception of emails to come pick up mail.
