My mom moved into Cascade Valley Senior Living. What I liked the best is there's a small amount of people in the memory care area, and the staff that are there know everyone. So like, somebody loses a doll, or gets picked up or something, they can say, "Oh, she lost her doll," and they can walk around and almost know exactly, and go find it and bring it back. Everybody seems very happy, content, and walking around. My mom is one of the older ones, and so she still has a little hard time because she never got used to using a walker, so we struggle with that. Other than that, the staff know her by name, and they know me by name when I come to visit, so I feel that it's very homey. They're very accommodating to each person's personal interests. You can definitely decorate the wall if you want to, if you don't want to come out of your room, like if you're a late riser like my mom, you don't have to follow all the regular norms. They make sure everybody is up by noon because that's their main meal, but if you're going to sleep in, they're not going to stop you. Definitely different than being in a hospital where things are kind of rigid. Everything I tasted, saw, or ate, looks just fine. It's not eating down at the Ritz, but it's what they could eat. Everything's fine, like pudding yesterday just looked like ordinary pudding.

Cascade Valley Senior Living was older. The building was showing its age, but it looked nice and clean. I met with the director, and he's the one that gave me the tour. He was a very, very nice individual. He said that they were giving it a facelift and doing some remodeling this year so it might be better after that. The common area was very small. It was on the second floor. You have to take an elevator up to it, which was fine, but it just seemed kind of cluttered. The rooms were fine. I liked it. They were well-designed. I got to meet the head chef and I was pretty impressed with him and their meal selection. They do a lot of things from scratch and they had a good menu.

My mother-in-law moved to Cascade Valley Senior Living assisted living. They're very caring, they're just angels who work there, they're really attentive, friendly, very kind, and very helpful. Her room is nice and the maintenance seems good. They're undergoing renovations right now and are a little bit old, but they have a salon area, a laundry area, an activities room, a nice dining hall, and a nice foyer or lobby. We chose this place because they have assisted living and memory care, and they accept Medicaid. My husband had the food and he said it was delicious, and my mother-in-law is eating better than she's ever eaten. Their dining area is spacious and very nicely done. I highly likely recommend this place to others. They take the residents out on shopping trips, they have internal activities, and they keep their residents busy. They're not at the high end of the scale like other places we've visited, but it's worth the money.
