My loved one is currently a resident at Carolina Gardens at Garden City and overall the experience has been very good. Moving in was easy, but my advice would be to plan space carefully. Look at the items in other rooms to get an idea of layout and space. The big meal of the day at this facility is lunchtime. The food is good and the variety is very good also. Overall, Carolina Gardens at Garden City is a good value. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

My loved one was previously a resident at Carolina Gardens at Garden City in the Memory Care unit and the overall experience was okay. I have no experience with the Assisted Living side, only the Memory Care. The Assisted Living residents may feel different about this facility. However, in our experience, this facility is not adequately prepared for dementia patients. I would not recommend this facility for Memory Care.

I believe Carolina Gardens is a relatively safe facility, and they try to have varied and interesting activities for residents. Maintenance staff is helpful and kind as well. Sometimes they are understaffed. Most staff are super nice. One or two staff members are not as kind and somewhat abrupt with my mom when she is frustrated.
Read moreI took a virtual your with Carolina Gardens at Garden City and it was terrible - just so sad. The studio apartment was just a bedroom with a bathroom and very tiny closet. There was no kitchen of any kind.
Good community. My loved one is more independent than what they could provide.
Rooms need to be cleaner. My loved one complained about the meals and is not a picky eater. They have no activities for men, and the hair dresser won't cut men's hair. The staff is friendly.
