My mom went to Carlton Senior Living Poets Corner. The facility was really nice and very new. But the staff was terrible. What happened was the staff wasn't watching the residents there, and people went into my mom's room, took stuff, and tried to take my mom's clothes off. And no one was ever around to help her. My mom was bound to a wheelchair, so she couldn't help herself, so it was just one problem after another. Their solution was, they put a lock on her door, so my mom couldn't get in or out. My mom was trapped in her room 24/7. I pulled her out of there after a month. It was always one excuse after another with her staff. I tried to call, and they weren't available. I didn't taste the food, but my mom said it was not bad. She was supposed to be on a strict diet, and she said sometimes the food was a little salty. In terms of activities, they had quite a few activities there. My mom was on oxygen, and one of the things that kept happening was that they got her a portable concentrator, but they never charged it enough and it would always run out. They tried to take her to the lunchroom for her meals and stuff like that, but every time she'd get down to the lunchroom, the battery would die, and they had to take her right back to her room and hook her up to her oxygen. They didn't maintain the equipment correctly, and it would cause panic attacks for her because she wasn't able to breathe.
