When my friend was needing assistance with her daily care I knew this was the place for her. A few years back my Mother was a resident for a few months before she passed and loved it. Once again Cambridge House has exceeded my expectation. My friend is wishing she had made the move sooner. She is sounding better than she has in a long time. All thanks the staff at Cambridge House.

I would like to talk about something that occurred here at Cambridge House of Maryville this past Wednesday on 3-1-2023. I was in the dining room between 12:00 and 1:00 eating lunch when myself and three other residents setting at my table herd someone yelling. It was the Cambridge House administrator. She was yelling very loudly at a resident, she was right in the women''s face ( a women more than 70 years old) The women was sitting in a chair alone not at a table. The women was not saying anything or making any trouble. The administrator of Cambridge House continued yelling at the women for more than two minutes. You could hear a lot of what was being said. One of the last things the administrator was saying to the women was that according to her CNA''s there was no evidence that the women had taken a shower in the last month. In my opinion no elderly person should be treated like this. especially in a public setting. Would you want your mother to be treated like this. Most of the other residents are too worried about themselves to say anything about this. But I just could not let this be unsaid. My second Review We had a fire here at Cambridge House of Maryville on Thursday evening 2/24/2023. Fortunately, no one was hurt. But this reminded me of something that I was told by the move in coordinator at the time that I was signing the lease. I moved into Cambridge House of Maryville, IL. in November of 2021, And I was told that the floors were all poured concrete and that if there was a fire that it could not reach the floor above. This is not true. The floor joist are made of wood and then covered with sheets of plywood. The floor joist is what supports the floor that you walk on. Only the concrete slab that the Cambridge House building sits on is poured concrete. The second and third story floors are not poured concrete so a big fire can easily burn through to the floor above. I believe that the reason I was told that the floors were made of concrete, was to give me a false since of security. Because if you live on the second floor or above your chances of surviving a fire are less than they would be if you lived on the ground floor. The apartment that was made available to me is on the third floor. What reminded me of this is that I was talking to another resident today. And she told me that she was told that the walls between the apartment units are fireproof. This is not true I can hear one of my neighbors when he talks on his phone or cough''s load. I can sometimes here my other neighbor''s TV if it is turned up load. I would like to add something to my review. Today 3/15/23 we had a fire drill here at Cambridge House of Maryville IL. We were instructed what do if the fire alarms sounded. One of the things that we were told is that we are to remain in our apartment until a staff member comes and tells us what to do. We were told these things by the D.O.N. She told us that the doors to our apartments were Fire doors rated for two hours, so we will be safe waiting in our apartments. After the Fire drill was over, I went to my door and looked at Fire rating label on my door. The Fire door to my apartment is Fire rated for 20 minutes! Not two hours as we were told. I also looked at other doors and they were rated for 20 minutes also. I am including a picture of the Fire rating label stapled to my apartment door. My 3rd review. I am going to take some time today to talk about Cambridge House of Maryville. This is Sunday 8-13-23 The lunch here today was pretty bad. They are now doing something here that you will not learn about on the Cambridge House web site. They will have item listed on the dining room menu that part of the residents will not receive at the meal. For example, today barbeque ribs were listed on the menu, but the kitchen manager did not order enough for everyone. So, the last 30 percent or so of the resident will have to eat something else. today they got a piece of pork loin with barbeque sauce on it. this is becoming really common at Cambridge House of Maryville.
